Human Performance 101

Blake Taylor and David Moore
QPE Teachers



As a teacher, we serve as a role model to our
students.
Failing to act professionally sets a bad
example and may also cause us to lose the
respect from students, parents and
colleagues.
To retain the respect of our students and
colleagues and provide our students with the
best education possible, we must
demonstrate professionalism in all aspects of
your career.

Are you reliable?
◦ Can people count on you?
◦ Do you show up prepared and on-time?
◦ Can people rely on your ability to finish a task?
◦ Are you MORALLY and ETHICALLY competent?

Do you bring the ability to grow yourself and
others?
◦ Do you value others growth?
◦ Are you focused on helping others succeed?
◦ Are you willing to try new things while maintaining
a positive attitude?

Are you able to dress like a professional?
◦ Do you look like a highly qualified teacher?
◦ Its ok to dress to connect with students, BUT IT
SHOULD NOT BE THE NORM.
◦ Is your appearance equal to or better
◦ then your colleagues as a norm?

Can you interact with students, parents and
colleagues?
◦ Are all students treated with the utmost respect and
dignity.
◦ Do your colleagues value your opinion and advice?
◦ Do you take the time to interact with parents every
time that you are face to face with them?

Can you act with the students best interest in
mind first?
◦ Can you find the good in each student?
◦ Do you understand the value of connecting with
every student?
