Game Rules
Rules:








The ball is size 4 for U12 and below and size 5 for all others.
The maximum number of players on the field is 5 players (4 plus GK)
The minimum number of players on the field is 3 players (2 plus GK)
Duration of the game will be 2 x 25 minute halves of running clock.
All games are self-refereed and players are expected to play with honesty and accountability.
Free Kicks- All kicks are indirect and all opposing players must be 5 feet from the spot of the ball.
Ball Hits Ceiling – if the ball hits the ceiling, opponent places ball at midfield for indirect kick.
Kick-ins – when ball goes out of play on touchline, ball can be placed within 1 yard of touchline for
indirect kick. Ball must be still prior to kicking.
 Substitutions made on the fly
 No Offsides
 Slide tackling the ball away from an opponent is illegal. Players can slide to keep a ball in play, but not
within reach of an opponent.
Goalkeeper Violation
 1) Pass Back: Handling the ball, having been passed deliberately and directly to him by a teammate;
except that he may handle a ball which a teammate passes to him by the head, chest, or knee and
without "trickery"
UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIORS:
 Players or fans will be subject to fine, suspension or both for the following actions:
 Unsporting Behavior by any non-player personnel;
 Provoking Altercation: Making physical contact with an opponent (e.g., pushing or poking), short of
fighting, or using the ball in so doing.
 Elbowing: Intentionally elbowing an opponent above the shoulder;
 Vicious Slide Tackling: A tackle from the side or from behind directly into one or both legs of an
opponent, seriously endangering player;
 Fighting;
 Leaving Team Bench or Penalty Area to engage in a fracas or confrontation with the opposition or a
Fields4Kids Staff Member;
 Extreme Unsporting Behavior: Committing particularly despicable behavior, including:
o (i) Spitting on the field, at an opponent or any other person;
o (ii) Persistent use of extremely abusive language or behavior toward an opponent or
Fields4Kids Staff Member and/or in frustration;
o (iii) Bodily contact with a Fields4Kids Staff Member in dissent.
Forfeit Rule
 Forfeit rule: A team may pick up rostered players from another team to play the game but forfeit the
game (score 4-0). Since the leagues do not keep results during the league and everyone makes the
playoffs, this rule is strictly enforced during playoffs. The goal of the leagues is to PLAY and HAVE FUN,
not focus on the results.
All Players must have read House and Game rules, signed the roster, and paid league fee. All players
understand that they will be liable for any injury to PRIOR to playing at Fields4Kids and that they play at their
own risk.
