PROPRIETIES AND PROCEDURES PROPRIETIES 1. Bids should be written in a uniform manner without emphasis and without undue haste or hesitation. 2. Players should maintain a courteous attitude towards partner and opponents at all times. They should not show any sign of approval or disapproval of a call or play; look intently at any other player during the auction or play; detach a card from their hand before it is their turn to play or lead; mix their cards before the result of the deal has been agreed upon. 3. The board must remain on the table at all times. South: Before play, if using the Bridgemates, check that you have the correct EW pair and board/s at your table, as shown on the Bridgemate screen. Enter the score details on the traveller or into the Bridgemate. Pass the sheet or Bridgemate to East to check and verify.
