Transaction view: Users come to this view to understand which company got funded. A company is represented by a card,
which has some information about the company and the latest funding round it had. Basically, users would like to look at a
timeline and scroll down to see the funding rounds that happened recently.
This is one of the current views that needs to be redesigned. Expected output is an image file (JPG / PNG) with the newly
redesigned cards.
Primary Parameters
1. Company Name
2. Short Description
3. Current Round Name (ex. Series A, Seed, Series C, etc.)
4. Current Round Amount (ex. $5M, $1M, undisclosed, etc.)
5. Current Round Date (ex. Today, Yesterday, 2 days back, 5th September 2016, etc.)
6. Investors (ex. Sequoia, Matrix, etc.)
7. Founded Year
8. Location
9. Total Funding Raised
Secondary Parameters
1. Company Logo
2. Sectors( -Online retail > fashion> Retail ............) - 3 sectors
3. Funding History - a horizontal timeline
Currently the card size ( height ) is too big. Only 2 companies' transaction can be viewed in one screen. We want more
companies in every screen fold.
The information such as Sector and funding history > we don't have to make it always visible.
Logo of many companies are colourful. So, the first thing your eyes will lock into will be the logo. Then the important
information about the latest funding round, which is at the right most corner. Therefore, if a consumer is looking at all the
cards, then his eyeball will move in a zig-zag direction and it is a pain while looking at it from UX perspective
• UI elements are randomly placed, making the view confusing to the user.
• Font selection has forced the view to take more space than required, hence showing less.
• The UI elements are not user engaging.
• There are multiple line breaks in the same card, making it difficult for the users to understand starting and
ending of cards.
• Use of larger than required logo size distracts the user from seeing the important information with proper
concentration.
• This UI is not suitable for speed reading.
• Random colours used for the funding timeline doesn’t provide much of a visual information and feedback.
• Information has been used multiple times to give the same information, taking more space and providing less
information.
• Clean User Interface/Less Clutter.
• Intelligent use of UI elements to provide more information than the present UI.
• Visibility of more cards, without having dependencies on the present UI.
• Reading the required information in less time and in one flow, without much distraction.
• Speed Reading capability.
• Providing it a contemporary look with flat elements.
• The Revamped UI have exactly the same dependency on the Backend as the present one.
Redesigning of the Funding Timeline from
• When collapsed, the timeline shows
the founding date and the latest
To
funding date. It also shows the
When collapsed
number of funding that has been
done in between.
• When expanded, the timeline shows
When expanded
the funding stage and dates.
• On funded rounds are coloured in
green and the current round is
coloured in teal.
The layout of the UI elements if rearranged then we can have a UI with proper readability, and less clutter.
Moreover, if the redundancy of elements in UI can be reduced we can save space and provide more information
in the view.
Wireframe of the collapsed card
As it can be seen above in the wireframe, we can use a smaller company logo size, and have the company name
And its description beside it. Next to it we can have the funding details, and the current funding details. All the
Primary parameters, like Company details, total funding, current stage funding, investors names, founded year can
Be seen with ease.
In continuation to the previous slide, the UI elements have been arranged in such a way that the left to right reading
is done with ease, ending it with a current funding stage information, which is in bold and blue with a light grey
background, showing the user that this is the information that is useful to the user.
Final Concept View
In the collapsed mode, the cards shows all the primary information, but in the expanded mode the card shows the
secondary details like the sector information and detailed funding time line. It also shows the Investor information in a
larger space, without hiding much of the information
