FORMAT
Better Ball of Partners—Match Play. Flights of
six teams each will be determined on the basis
of total handicap for the team. Teams will play
each team in their flight in a nine-hole match. All
matches are to play the full nine holes (45 holes
of competition!)
FLIGHT WINNERS
Following Saturday’s Match Play, flight winners
will be determined. Flight winners will be the
teams which score the highest number of points
in their matches. Flight winners will be eligible to
compete in the Playoff on Saturday at 4 pm.
SCORING
Ten points will be awarded for each nine-hole
match as follows:
• 1 point for winning a hole
• 1/2 point for tying a hole
• 1 point for winning a match
• 1/2 point for tying a match
TIES
In case of a tie for a flight winner, the winner will
be the team which scored the higher point total
in their match against each other. If that match
was tied, the winner will be determined by a
chip-off on Hole #18 (closest to the pin).
HANDICAPS
For members, handicap used will be the “Home
Handicap” listed in the computer as of 7/1/16.
Guest’s handicap will be their USGA In`dex
adjusted for slope and rating of Laurel Ridge.
The low ball in the foursome will be stroked off.
Strokes will be indicated on the scorecard. All
golfers may select to play from either the men’s
middle tees or the forward senior tees, based on
either age or golf handicap.
RULES
USGA rules and its decision will govern all
tournament play.
PLAYERS’ POOL
The Players’ Pool is optional; those who do not
enter are not eligible for Players’ Pool monies.
Cost is $100 per team; both players on a team
must enter. Entry into the Players’ Pool must be
completed prior to the start of the first match.

PLAYOFF
A Playoff to determine Tournament Champions
will immediately follow the fifth match. The
format of the Playoff is a Shoot-Out. Rules are
as follows (based on a full field of 10 flights):
• Better Ball of Partners
• Full Handicap (off the card)
• Odd # Flights tee off on Hole #18 (Wave 1)
• Even # Flights tee off on Hole #9 (Wave 2)
• Two teams eliminated from each wave
• Remaining 3 teams from Wave #1 play Hole #9
• Remaining 3 teams from Wave #2 play Hole

• One team eliminated from each wave
• Remaining 4 teams play Hole #18 to determine
Champions and 1st/2nd Runners-Up.
Entry Fee is $600/team
Fee includes:
• A gift for each participant
• Guest green fees & cart fees each day
of the tournament & practice round
• Member cart fees for all three days
(private cart owners can use their
own cart; however there will not be a
reduction in the entry fee)
• Range balls for all three days
• Breakfast & lunch on tournament
days
• Dinner, golf games & entertainment
on Friday evening for participants &
spouses/guests; cash bar
• Celebration dinner & awards for
participants & spouses/guests on
