Starting Aug. 1, Brad Welter assumed the role of president and will act as the senior operating oicer for the company. With the new title, Welter will be responsible for all aspects of the company’s performance. Brad has been employed at Pound-Maker for the past 14 years and has 29 years of experience in the cattle industry predominately in the feeding sector. “I am very excited to be named president,” said Welter. “Pound-Maker was created by the insight and innovative thinking of its founders and has been built into what it is today thanks to years of commitment from an entire network of stakeholders. I look forward to shaping the future with that network, including the Board of Directors, the shareholders, the neighbouring communities, and especially the people working here who dedicate themselves to the success of Pound-Maker every day.” With 13 years of inancial experience, Kim Riel will be the Chief Financial Oicer, assuming responsibility for the inance and administrative duties within the company. Riel has worked in the manufacturing and agricultural sectors and holds a CPA-CMA designation. Keith Rueve will continue to serve as the Director of Ethanol Production, Safety and Environmental Compliance and has been with the company since 1992. Rueve has served as Ethanol Production Manager since 2001.
