• Students will be required to wear gym strip
• Students will be required to purchase a gym
bag ($10), shirt($10) and optional shorts ($12)
• Students may wear their own shorts or pants,
but they must be black and loose-fitting
• Some activities will be outdoors, so students
will be encouraged to dress appropriately
Gym Bags
The order for gym bags has not
yet arrived. Please send your
child to school with a reusable
bag (could be a cloth shopping
bag for example) with their first
and last name clearly labeled.
Lockers
• Students will be assigned a locker
• It must be a combination lock, not a
lock with a key
• Students, please memorize your
combination and practice opening
and closing your lock over the
weekend
Supplies
Please ensure that all belongings
are clearly labeled with your child’s
name (or initials), even pencils and
pencil crayons. This may seem
labour-intensive, but it will save you
time and money in the long run by
not having to replace lost items.

Lunch
• In the classroom
• Students will have a chance to use
the microwave about once a week
• Hot lunch offered once a month for
approximately $5
• Health e-Lunches available for
ordering on line
Water Bottles
• We encourage students to stay
hydrated
• Please send your child to school
with a water bottle that can be
refilled throughout the day for
proper hydration

• Students will write homework
each day in their agendas
• After checking agenda, please
check over homework for
completion and for quality, then
initial the agenda

Edmodo
• Online social networking tool
• used to facilitate home-school communication
• Can be used to:
– see copies of assignments

Where to Meet on the First Day
• Out on the tarmac, between the
portables and the grade 5 doors
• At 8:25am, I will meet you
outside and escort you inside
Dropping Off/ Picking Up
• Parents, please drop your kids off
in an area well out of the bus
zones.
• Decide on a spot to meet at the
end of each day, again away from
the bus zones.
Morning Arrival
• Our school provides supervision
each day beginning at 8:15am
• Unlike elementary school, students
may enter the building on their own
at 8:15 and head to their lockers
• Homeroom begins at 8:30, at which
time students should be seated and
ready to start
