BLUE CHIP KIDS – INTERSTITIAL SERIES
Miami, Florida- -South Florida PBS - WPBT2 announces the new interstitial series, Blue
Chip Kids! Learn why it’s never too early for anyone to become money smart and for
every parent who wants their children to develop the skills to invest wisely and become
responsible money managers, regular savers, and to earn money while they sleep, this
series will enlighten both children and adults, on how to achieve these skills.
Presented by Miami’s WPBT2 and distributed nationally by American Public Television
(APT), Blue Chip Kids premieres on public television stations nationwide in March 2017
(check local listings). Major funding for the series provided by the Batchelor Foundation.
Based on the book Blue Chip Kids: What Every Child (and Parent) Should Know
About Money, Investing, and the Stock Market, this multi-episode short-form series
provides a fun and easy-to-understand introduction to the world of money and investing
for kids and parents. Written by David W. Bianchi—an investor and lawyer with an
economics degree from Tufts University—this resource series demystifies the basic
principles about money matters and shows what it takes to spend, save, and invest wisely.
Each episode (literally) illustrates a new financial fundamental using simple examples,
plain language and entertaining drawings. The episodes are one-minute-long, which
makes understanding and discussing money matters easy for kids (and their parents)!
“Financial literacy is the challenge of our time and the “Blue Chip Kids” interstitials are
intended to stimulate and educate young minds so that they begin to think about how to
earn, manage and invest money. The topics are simple yet informative and are presented
with entertaining cartoon characters who accompany the viewer from topic to topic in a
format that young people feel comfortable with. It is a great way to start the financial
learning process.” -David W. Bianchi
