He has been teaching IT related subjects for over 10 years. He has kept a lot of students’ homework and projects in electronic format. However, he did not organize the files very well therefore he is going use an 10-year old computer with a new hard disk and reorganize the files in a drive. He has checked that the old computer works properly. (a) Suggest two possible hardware problems of Mr. Yip’s idea. (2 marks) (b) Suggest a low-cost solution for each of the problems in (a). (2 marks) (c) Suggest three tasks that Mr. Yip could do on the new hard disk before transferring the files from his computer to the new hard. State the reason of doing so for each task. Assume that her computer hardware and software have no compatible problem with the new hardware. (a) Besides the clock rate, suggest two attributes of CPU that determine its speed. (2 marks) (b) Explain why faster CPU could speed up image editing process. (1 mark) (c) State one difference between RAM and Hard Drive. (1 mark) (d) Explain why larger RAM size could speed up image editing process.
