Overview of resources Aim of the Project: The project’s long-term aim is to develop a delivery workforce able to equip employers’ staff to better support apprentices in their workplace, to play an active role in their delivery and ultimately provide truly employer owned Apprenticeships. This will be achieved through the delivery of a 3 day training programme leading to the Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training to 50 of our training delivery workforce. Through the training delivered LTG staff will; Increase awareness of Apprenticeship requirements amongst employers so that they better understand learners’ needs (including those from vulnerable and excluded groups) Be provided with a toolkit that better enables them to communicate with employers in the most effective way Have improved self-confidence, enabling them to better promote Apprenticeships, better promote Lifetime and better promote themselves Improve the quality of customer service that they deliver to employers Optimise engagement with employers Deliver a better quality and rewarding experience to every learner How to develop resources to meet individual training provider’s requirements: This document has been developed to identify and explain how to use each of the resources and clarify how they link together, although the programme has been developed as part of ASSP commissioned and funded by the Education and Training Foundation it is a bespoke course for Lifetime Training staff. Note: The course has been structured to meet the requirements of the National Occupation Standards for the Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training qualification delivered through City and Guilds. There are a number of optional units for this qualification that could be replaced by others within the qualification framework, if required. The units covered within this suite of resources are: Understanding the roles and responsibilities in education and training (mandatory) Planning to meet the needs of learners in education and training (mandatory) Delivering education and training (mandatory) Assessing learners in education and training (mandatory) Using resources for education and training (mandatory) Assess occupational competency in the work environment (optional) Engage with employers to develop and support learning provision (optional) Preparing for the coaching role (optional) The course of resources link specifically to online platforms and delivery methods available to Lifetime Training, these could also be easily amended to meet the needs of individual providers. Webinar This deliver method is an online system where the tutor and staff/ learners can complete an online conference (internet and phone access is required). This platform is easily accessible to anyone who wish to take up this offering. This was produced as part of the Apprenticeship Staff Support Programme, which was commissioned and funded by The Education and Training Foundation. Fuse This is Lifetime Trainings online platform for document and information sharing. Most providers offer a Moodle type platform which is the same.
