Rules for Tailgating at the University of Florida
Football Game Days















Tailgating set-up may only begin at 6 am on the day of the game.
No tailgating is permitted in areas taped off by UF Staff.
No electrical devices or extension cords may be plugged into university building outlets.
Parking or additional tailgating spaces cannot be saved.
Tailgating is not permitted inside any University of Florida buildings or rooftops and may
not obstruct vehicle or pedestrian thoroughfares.
All barbeque grills must be attended at all times. Fires built on the ground or open fire pit
devices are prohibited.
Tents or canopies must be secured and cannot obstruct sidewalks, roadways, or
pedestrian walkways.
Generators must be equipped with a muffler and extension cords must be properly
managed.
Individuals are responsible for compliance with all local and state laws governing alcohol
consumption.
Open containers of alcohol must be kept within the immediate tailgating area and are not
permitted on public streets, sidewalks and thoroughfares.
Pets are not allowed to run at large in tailgating sites or on campus, must be leashed at all
times, and must be cleaned up after. Furthermore, animals shall not be left unattended or
secured to university property.
Keep your tailgating area clean and free of litter. “Put it in the can, Gator fan”.
Tailgating areas must be broken down and cleaned up no later than 3 am after the game.
Always practice positive, fan-friendly behavior. Be respectful of those around you and
your tailgating area. Remember: drunkenness, obscene or harassing behavior, and
violence or threats of violence will not be tolerated.
UFPD reserves the right to restrict campus areas that they deem at maximum capacity.
