CLAAS Eventing Tour, HPP (the Indoor Cup of Poland) in Driving

Poznań, 04/12/2015
Press Release
CAVALIADA Poznań 2015 - the prestige and diversity of horse riding
CAVALIADA Poznań has become a fixed item in the calendar of prestigious equestrian events. This is
Poland's only series of equestrian show jumping competitions officially authorised by the International
Equestrian Federation (FEI). This year as many as 700 horse registration applications were submitted to
CSI3*-W, CSI1* and CSIYH, with 500 of them finally accepted. It turns out that two competition arenas in Hall A and in Hall 7A - are not enough. As many as 640 horses will be participants of all the events and
shows. Therefore, the organisers plan changes in the future.
CAVALIADA Poznań is the first part of CAVALIADA Tour 2015/2016. The following competitions will be
held next year in Lublin and Warsaw. PKO Bank Polski is the main sponsor of the whole tour.
Although the main pillar of CAVALIADA is the CSI horse jumping competition, also other equestrian
disciplines, such as eventing, teams, para-equestrian dressage, dressage and equestrian vaulting, will
be staged in Poznań. Competitions including first three disciplines of the above-mentioned ones will
have the status of the Indoor Cup of Poland. Equestrian connoisseurs like the programme, but the
organiser every time works sports attractions in CAVALIADA so skilfully that the event attracts the
interests those who so far have not had much to do with horses. In CSI3*-W competitions, 112
competitors will represent 23 federations with 251 horses. The second edition of the CSIYH1*
competition will be held with 82 showjumpers from 17 countries. The number of horses qualified for
the competition is 105. In CSI1*, 125 competitors and 152 horses will compete. Applications from 13
countries have been accepted for the competition.

Competing for points
The most important competition of CAVALIADA CSI3*-W is Sunday's Grand Prix, which is qualifications
for the World Cup Central European League, as well as for CAVALIADA Tour. The prize pool in this
competition is PLN 120 000 and it is one of three competitions belonging to the prestigious
international FEI ranking in this tournament. From a sports point of view of, Friday's 150 cm
competition with a final round and Saturday's Speed and Music are important competitions in which
participants will earn points in the international ranking. Saturday's competition is held to the loud
rhythm of chart hits and it is popular among the audience. Mentioning the hits, one cannot miss
Thursday's PGNiG Potęga Skoku competition, always met with great excitement on the arena, as great
as the 2-metre wall to be negotiated. Friday's jumping competitions will include PZU Wenus vs. Mars.
This is were male and female riders will compete with each other. It will be a parallel competition in
which 8 women and 8 men will compete in pairs in two identical show jumping arenas in a knock-out
system - the loser drops out. Due to its attractiveness, the competition will be extremely spectacular.
Last year's interest in the CSIYH competition from the participants made the organisers have no
hesitation in continuing the idea of two arenas. Also from Thursday, CSI1* and CSIYH* WECHTA
YOUNGSTER TOUR competitions will be held in Hall 7A (arena B). CDN - dressage, equestrian vaulting
and show jumping and dressage trials as part of the CLAAS Eventing Tour - held in Poznań with the
status of the Eventing Indoor Cup of Poland - will also take place in this arena. Anyone interested will
be able to watch the competitions and shows in Arena B, and the ticket price will be symbolic.
CAVALIADA Tour
For the fourth time in Poznań, we start the cup series of CAVALIADA Tour competitions. More sports
emotions will be provided in Lublin and Warsaw in February 2016.
CAVALIADA Poznań is part of the CAVALIADA Tour series of sports and trade fair events of the same
kind held in three Polish cities whose professionalism has been recognised by the International
Equestrian Federation (FEI). This is the only series of equestrian events in this part of Europe which
has received the official authorisation from the Federation. The high rating of the event in Western
Europe and in the FEI promotes Poland abroad.
Prizes will be awarded in three classifications within CAVALIADA TOUR:
a. 2015/2016 CAVALIADA TOUR BEST RIDER,
b. 2015/2016 CAVALIADA TOUR BEST POLISH RIDER,

Felix Hassmann – a representative of Germany, a five-time medalist of European Championship in
junior categories. He won 2004 Junior European Championship individually and took the second
position in European Championships of Young Riders in 2006. Not only has he got great technical
skills, but he is also very successful. This year he has won 8 competitions of the world ranking. In
Poznań he will be a pretender to win both Grand Prix (he has a chance to win it third time in a row)
as well as Speed & Music as this really is his specialty.
Cameron Hanley – an Irishman who has been running his own club in Osnabruck. He moved to
Germany in 2013 because he wanted to be trained by the best coaches. In 2009 he took 4 th position
in individual European Championship in Windsor. Together with the Irish national team he won the
Cup of Nations at 5-star CSIO in La Baule, Falsterbo, Calgary and Gijón (2015). Two year ago he
achieved success in one of the stages of Global Champions Tour in Wiesbanen. He has been in a great
shape recently. He was ranked 4th at CSI5* in Stuttgart Grand Prix, which is included in the Western
Europe League of the World Cup.
Gert Jan Bruggink from Holland. Being a junior and a young rider he won 4 medals in European
Championship, including one gold individual medal in 2001. Shortly afterwards, he was chosen to be
a member of the senior national team of Holland. At the age of 23 he had his debut in the Olympic
Games in Athens where the Dutch team was ranked 4th. He won the Cup of National in 5-star CSIO in
Rotterdam and Gijón. This year he has already triumphed in 4 competitions of the world ranking
including CSI4* Grand Prix in Ebreichsdorf.
Bruce Goodin – a representative of New Zealand, permanently living in Denmark. He took part in the
Olympic Games four times (1992, 2000, 2004, 2008). His present objective is to qualify to the
Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. He is going to compete for further points of the individual Olympic
Games ranking during Cavaliada in Poznań. His greatest success this year has been the victory in
Grand Prix in Munich.
Jarosław Skrzyczyński – a rider of KJ Agro-Hanel Śrem. The highest-ranked Pole in the FEI ranking. He
has for two years now been the leader of the PZJ and TylkoSkoki rankings. This year has been very
successful for him. He won his second Polish Championship and was victorious in CSIO3* Grand Prix
in Bratislava. What is most important, he did very well in European Championship. Riding Crazy Quick
in Aachen he managed to qualify to the final (top 25 competitors) leaving lots of famous riders
behind. He finished 22nd, which is the best score of a Pole ever since the 80s. Then, at European
Championships in 1981 Jan Kowalczyk finished 24th, and in 1983 Bohdan Sas-Jaworski took 25th
position.
Maksymilian Wechta – a rider of KJ Wechta Rosnówko. He is 22 and this year he won a bronze medal
during his debut in senior Championship of Poland. Before, he was victorious in Championship of
Poland of young riders in 2013. He did very well in junior European Championship in Vejer de la
Frontera in 2013 where he finished 17th. He was selected for the national team and thanks to his
successful performances in team competitions at CSIO in Bratislava and Arezzo he contributed to
pushing the Polish team to this year’s finals of the Cup of Nations. He has been in a good shape
during this indoor season. He was 4th in CSI3*W Grand Prix in Leszno in October and, also, he won a
world-ranked competition. Two weeks ago he finished 2nd in a similar-rank competition in Budapest.
Andrzej Opłatek – a rider of KJ HEAA Turek. One of the best juniors in Poland of the recent years. In
2014 he won the Championship of Poland and was ranked 8th in European Championship. This year,
despite being only 18, he competed among older rivals in the national championship (young riders
under 21) and he managed to win the bronze. He is one of just a few juniors worldwide who can
boast a victory in a 3-star Grand Prix (CSI Ciekocinko 2015)
CLAAS Eventing Tour – CAVALIADA Poznań HPP WKKW
The best Polish riders will take part in the CLAAS Eventing Tour in Poznań. We will watch the
competition between Paweł Spisak, the five-time Champion of Poland and three-time participant in the
Olympic Games, and Paweł Warszawski, the four-time winner of the Polish Eventing Cup and Polish
Senior Champion - Ambassador of the CLAAS Eventing Tour.
CLAAS Polska and Poznań International Fair continue the last year's successful cooperation within the
framework of CAVALIADA Tour. For this reason, a dedicated brand for eventing competitions held as
part of the series in the equestrian season 2015/2016 was created - the CLAAS Eventing Tour.
The first preliminaries for the CLAAS Enevting Tour will be held in Poznań. In addition, the
competitions will be held with the status of the Indoor Eventing Cup of Poland. And so the audience
will watch the dressage, show jumping and cross country trials in the halls of Poznań International Fair.
Just like last year, the cross country trial will be held in Hall 5. There are 10 names on the list and two
more participants will perform in Poznań thanks to the wild-card entry received from the organisers.
The best eventing riders will show up in the competition including the Olympic Games participant,
Paweł Spisak. The participation of top riders is a good chance of high sports competition. The following
competitions within the CLAAS Tour Eventing will be held in Lublin during the second preliminaries,
and in Warsaw where the final will take place.
The CLAAS EVENTING TOUR includes indoor eventing competitions held during the winter season in the
equestrian CAVALIADA Tour series. Organising the cross country trial in the fair halls is a very complicated
undertaking. The success of the event is possible thanks to the experience of Poznań International Fair and
IdeaExpo.MTP which is responsible for the competition infrastructure.

Winter driving exclusively at CAVALIADA
Indoor Polish Cup in carriage driving
No matter what the temperature outside, the CAVALIADA arena as always will be hot. Once
again, the winter season in carriage driving becomes more attractive because of the Indoor
Polish Cup in two-horse carriage driving.
Six competitors will take part in the CAVALIADA Tour series HPP in Driving. The proposals suggest that
the "safe bets" that may show up in the cup competitions include the three best drivers in the
classification of the Polish Championships in a given category from the year of HPPP. The three others
will qualify depending on their skills and a bit of luck. Two other drivers will be chosen after a HPP
qualification competition which will take place on 5 December on Poznań International Fair fairground
during CAVALIADA Prolog friendly competitions. The sixth driver will participate in CAVALIADA Tour
thanks to the so-called wild card received from the organisers - Poznań International Fair.
As always, the Indoor Polish Cup in two-horse carriage driving is associated with big emotions. An
indoor competition includes close contact with audience who respond enthusiastically, support the
participants and reward the winners. This year the programme of CAVALIADA Poznań has been
changed a little. The driving dexterity competition with marathon elements for the first time will be
held on Thursday and not on Friday. The second driving dexterity competition with marathon
elements will take place traditionally on Saturday.
The competition in Poznań is the first preliminaries of HPP two-horse carriage driving in the
CAVALIADA Tour series. The second preliminaries will be held in Lublin (4-7 February 2016) and the
finals will take place during CAVALIADA Warszawa (25-28 February 2016).
Let us remind you that Bartłomiej Kwiatek was last edition's winner of HPP driving - for the second
time. Will the representative of SLKS Książ and Stado Ogierów w Książu take up the challenge and
participate in the qualifying competition also this year? We will find out soon.
CAVALIADA Future
Numerously, fascinatingly, internationally
CAVALIADA Future clearly shows that the pony sport in Poland is developing rapidly again and the event
is the one that is enjoyed most by the youngest equestrians.
Since mid-October we have been tracking the efforts of young equestrians competing for points
qualifying to CAVALIADA Future. The competition in Kalisz was the final one in qualifications to
CAVALIADA Future 2015/16. This season, the organisers changed the rules and one of the changes,
concerning age, was very important. Despite the age limit lowered from 14 to 12, the turnout was
even better than in previous editions. There were 32 participants in the mini category and 41
participants in the midi category. It seems that the pony sport in Poland is developing rapidly again
and CAVALIADA Future is the event that the youngest equestrians enjoy most.
The competition in preliminaries was very fierce till the end and, interestingly, some competitors took
part in all parts even though they did not have to as they gained promotion earlier. The prestige
included not only being promoted to the leading group that will perform in front of an audience in
Poznań, Lublin and Warsaw, but also the very winning the qualifying round. Agata Kamińska won in
Kalisz, which sealed her prime position in the mini category. The rider representing KJ Ranczo Kołata
took part in all five competitions (and only the 3 best results were taken into account), she won twice,
once came second, once third and once fourth. Gabriela Kozłowska representing FER Więckowice won
the first preliminaries in the midi category in Józefin. Then she did not go to Michałowice, and in
Jaszkowo she did not do well. She proved, however, that it is worth fighting to the end. She came third
in Sopot, she won in Kalisz and finally she turned out to be first in the qualifications. For the first time,
CAVALIADA Future has become an international event. It is because of Natalie Beckowa from the
Czech club Staj Pharlap who came to take part in the preliminaries in Michałowice and Jaszkowo. This
time she did not succeed, but Polish riders will probably have to compete with more foreign
competitors in the future editions of the event.
According to the regulations, also the Polish Cup gold medal winners in A1 and A2 groups are entitled
to take part in CAVALIADA Future. This year they are: Maja Marchwicka from KJ Zbyszko (A1 group,
HPP Leszno) and Aleksandra Osuch from Podkowa Gruszczyn (as many as three gold medals: A2 in HPP
Leszno and A1 and A2 in PP in Strzegom). The latter must now choose the category in which she will
take part in Cavaliada Future.

CAVALIADA - attractions from the world of horses for the whole family
CAVALIADA will offer attractions for children, young people and those looking for excitement and thrills.
The event can be viewed from several perspectives, depending on whether we are fans of the sport, or
just looking for a way to spend the weekend.
Hall 7A: shows and competitions
For equestrian amateurs, Arena B will be the place of exploring the horse world. From Thursday,
equestrian shows organised by Polish Horse Breeders Association and the Agricultural Property
Agency will be held in Hall 7A. The programme should interest not only children because Arena B will
also offer sports emotions. The competitions will include three equestrian disciplines: eventing (CLAAS
Eventing Tour), dressage and show jumping - CSI1*, CSIYH*.
Mom, what do horses eat?
Exploring the mysteries of the four-hoofed human friends will bring children, parents and carers a
great joy. In a unique place - in the Polish Breeding Hall - breeding will meet sport, work will be an
exciting adventure, and science will be a real fun. This is where one will discover the secrets of the socalled "horse" professions - a saddler, a veterinarian, a nutritionist and many others. There will be an
opportunity to ride a pony or a horse under the guidance of instructors. There will be also a stable, so
that one may watch the behaviour and habits of these animals.
The Polish Breeding Hall is an initiative of Poznań International Fair, Polish Horse Breeders Association
and the Agricultural Property Agency, aiming to present the achievements of the Polish breeders of
horses. Polish Horse Breeders Association celebrates its 120-year anniversary so the reason for
satisfaction is even greater. and so CAVALIADA will be an arena for showing the domestic breeds of
horses and an auction where eight horses of different ages and varying degrees of training will be for
sale. The focal point of the anniversary will be the official Gala of Breeders with introducing PZHK and
OZHK/WZHK standards.
Children Zone
It is a fixed item of CAVALIADA. In the Children Zone, all children will find a lot of free attractions such
as colouring their faces, games and sports competitions, or guessing games and an Indian Village.
Children may also visit the Young Rider's Bakery and co-bake healthy pastries, take part in a natural
production show and see how well-baked bread tastes.
Real auction
For the second time at CAVALIADA, we will witness a horse auction. The auction, which is organised
under the slogan "Now Polish Horses", will be selling 8 Polish-bred horses of different ages and at
different levels of training (starting from 3 years olds, to successful sports horses and breeding
appropriate ones).
Trade fair
If you start thinking more seriously about recreational or sports horse riding, then you should know
that CAVALIADA Poznań offers the largest selection of equestrian equipment and accessories. In two
halls - 7 and 8 - manufacturers and distributors have prepared an offer for the winter season, but not
limited to it, for the trade fair participants. It is also a good time for Christmas shopping. It is not a
secret that almost every equestrian fan dreams of finding the longed-for riding breeches, gloves and
other accessories under the Christmas tree.
Admission to halls 7, 7A, 8 and 8A will be unlimited.
Regular ticket price: PLN 9, reduced ticket price: PLN 6. For children under 3, admission is free.
Opening dates:
The Polish Breeding Hall (hall 8A), Arena B (hall 7A)
