Rams Juniors Season Launch
Please note that our season launch will be held this Saturday May 9th at the Woden Tradie’s Club in Phillip. We
require all players to be there by 3.45pm so that the Launch can commence at 4pm. Please ensure all players
wear jeans or trousers with sneakers. We also ask that all parents friends and grandparents enter the room upon
arrival so that the boys are not waiting too long outside the room.
The afternoon will be lots of fun as we introduce all the teams and present every player to the club and hopefully
some other surprises. All players that are present on the day will go into a draw to win some great prizes and as a
part of Mothers Day celebrations some lucky mums that are present will also go into a draw for a some lovely
prizes. We do stress that all prize winners must be present on day.
Drinks and some light snacks will be available for all players at around 5.15pm.After the completion of the Launch
please feel free to stay at the club and enjoy a drink or two and perhaps a meal from the bistro. We will be running
a few raffles at the door to help fund the cost of the Launch.
It would be greatly appreciated if all attending could purchase either a $1 ,$2 or $5 ticket that gives you a one in a
hundred chance of winning $$50 $100 or $250 respectively. These raffles will be drawn on the day.
Rams Seniors Ladies Day

raise money for the Australian Breast Cancer Foundation. For the Cost of a $20 ticket the ladies can enjoy some

The boys lined up against the Warriors for the second time in as many games and showed all of their skills again.
It turned out to be a bit of a training run after the boys got off to a flying start and never looked back. The skills the
boys show for their age are very good and Scrumpy will be looking for these skills to get even better each week
so that when we come up against our harder opposition we are ready to inflict some Rambolini lessons.
In a great team effort Little Dredgie kicked 2 conversions to celebrate his birthday in a big way (thanks to Liam’s
mum for the yummy cake)! All this made Dredgie a deserving Man of the Match. It’s hard to mention all the boys
individually when they all contributed so well but a highlight of the match was Lawsy’s intercept and 20 metre
try (probably 120 metres by now!), Zac for playing even though he was sick and Emmanuel for helping out on the
Stats with his broken wrist.
Scrumpy made the boys fully aware that games will get harder as the year goes on and they need to keep
working on their teamwork to give them the best chance against the harder teams. It’s important that organization
and teamwork with the ball are continued by the boys so that when bigger efforts are required they can all step up.
A great first up effort once again and keep up the great sportsmanship amongst yourselves.

The boys started the regular season like a house on fire, spreading the ball wide in attack and moving up, helping
each other out in defence. Their first half performance was one of the best we have seen but unfortunately in the
second half we fell away a little.
Highlights of the first half were some strong running by Tom, Daniel, Mick and Bailey and it was great to see them
running on to the ball out wide, due to good organising in the ruck by Matt and Bradley. A setback for us early was
the injury suffered by Max after a strong run. This was unfortunate as Max is one of our go forward boys but
hopefully he’ll be back on deck next week.
Anthony came on to replace Max and along with Angus made some strong charges up the middle. Riley’s first
touch with the ball has us very excited as to the damage he will do out wide and he will complement our speedy
outside men with Nick and Maikeli also looking very dangerous when given the ball in space. Our other Rams
debutants Joseph and Aydin showed us enough to know they can play important roles for the team, with Joseph
making some strong runs in the centre and Aydin pulling off one of the hits of the match on the Tongan Warrior,
making him cough up the ball. Djai impressed again with his ball control and enthusiasm in defence and Billy
came on in the second half even though he had been sick and put in a strong effort trying his best in defence.
This strong first half had us up 12-0 with tries to Tom and Bailey and conversions by Daniel and Tom. The second
half was a good lesson to the boys and was emphasized by Dredgie in the post match talk. We know the boys will
take this on board and realise they have a great team, they just need to work for each other in defence when the
game gets tough. More practice on tackling will be done at training so the improvement continues.
Overall a good effort from the boys for the first comp game and we can see lots of positives for the season. Man of
the Match was Tom for a non-stop effort which included a game high 16 tackles. Also thanks to our injured mate
Luke for turning up not only to the game to help Jonno with Manager duties, but also for coming to training to stay
involved with the team.

Played – Dragons 40-26 Win
After a very slow start to the year with player rego's and training, the first 10 minutes looked
like the boys had been playing together for years. They dominated possession, showed
enthusiasm and ran with the ball aggressively which was great to see. Blake "Wild Thing"
Oppelear was nearly unstoppable in every run he took. Jake's talk was great and he
showed he will become a good leader for us this year. They boys piled on 40 unanswered
points and it looked like we might have an early finish to the game if things kept going their
way.
Unfortunately, they switched off after half time, and let the Dragons dominate. Remember we need to be switched on for all 50 minutes, and if you’re not, a tight game will be lost
easily
Highlights for the second half were Chris's big hits and Mitchell's defence. He made four
tackles in a row at one point, and three of them were one on one.
All in all it was a pretty good first up effort, but showed we have plenty to work on if we want
to have a successful year.
Special thanks to Jack Thom for playing with us this week.
Ryan, Country & Adam.
