Getting to Know Spelling Tic-Tac-Toes

Getting to Know Spelling Tic-Tac-Toes
1. Each spelling week, you will take a pre-test in class.
2. Then, you must complete three spelling activities of your choice at home during the
week. They are due on Friday!
3. Tic-tac-toes MUST be completed in your spelling notebook if it is a paper activity,
you must include ALL 18 words, and all work should be in your neatest writing.
4. At the beginning of each lesson, create a heading on the top of the page for the
lesson and activity number like this:
Lesson 1
Activity 1: Dice Spelling
5. Sometimes you might be able to fit more than one activity on a page, but you do not
need to squeeze. Remember to use the backs of the notebook pages too! We don’t
want to waste good paper 
6. Some activities you do not need to complete in your notebook (like SpellingCity or
the shaving cream activities). Simply have your parent sign your tic-tac-toe sheet on
the matching square showing that you completed that practice.
7. On Friday morning of a spelling week, you will turn in both your spelling notebook
and your tic-tac-toe activity sheet.
8. Each activity counts as one homework, so be careful not to miss a week’s worth!!
9. Check out the samples, and begin working on activities of your choice whenever you
have time throughout the week.
** Remember: these are FUN ways to practice for your spelling test. You might need
someone to quiz you more if you have a hard time with this subject. **
