Time & Players: 15 min., 1 to 6 Players
Lob & Go To The Net
When the is
opponent
attacking from
the baseline
counter the
attack with a
lob then
recover to the
center and
surprise them
and go to the
net before they
realize then
finish the point
at the net

Lob Surprise Approach
When the
opponent is at
the net and less
than 6’ from
the net, Lob
then recover
toward the
middle and
then approach
the net
Lob Recovery Shot
When opponent
attacks sending
you wide and they
are at the net, lob
and get back to
position in the
center of the court
Drill Purpose & Goal
1.) Players learn to develop Reflex to focus on making the hit causing the ball to move in the direction
intended and then the recovery to the correct position do counter the opponents attack.
2.) Not getting distracted with the direction of the shot or opponent on other side of net.
3.) Learning to be aware of controlling eye and thought movement.
Drill Set Up
BEGINNER, INTERMEDIATE & ADVANCED:
1.) Players start in Zone Three while Pro feeds ball from vertical feeds, same side of net or other side of net.
2.) Players move into a position in Zone Three which will allow hitting the ball in the direction desired.
3.) After hitting the ball Player recovers back into the centered position which counters the possible angles the
the opponent may attack or moving into the attacking position.
Tactics & Strategy
1.) To increase the chances of outlasting your opponent while working to find an opening in the opponents
attack giving you the chance to attack or cause your opponent to make an error.
2.) Knowing how and where to position yourself after your opponent has started to attack as well as being able
to keep the point in a neutral situation until you are able to set up an attacking situation.
