UEA COLNEY LANE SATURDAY 29TH APRIL 2017 10:30-17:00 COMPETITION FORMAT Men’s and Women’s 7’s: Playing standard IRB 7’s Rules – to see a detailed breakdown of these rules please consult http://www.rfu.com/thegame/formsofrugby/sevens The men’s competition format tbc (based on entries). The women’s competition format tbc (based on entries). There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd place play offs for each. Squads can consist of up to 12 players, with no more than 7 on a pitch at any one time. Rolling substitutions will be in place. Captains must report each match score to the HQ after each game. Timings for each match will be detremined based on the number of teams that enter. Mixed Touch: Playing standard touch rules, except that we will be playing 7 minute halves. There must be a minimum of 2 players of either gender on the pitch at all teams e.g. 4 men and 2 women. Captains must report each match score to the HQ after each game. HOW TO REGISTER Team Captains: If you want to register a team, then please use the entry form attached or contact uea+sport via [email protected] and request an entry form. Please read the eligibility rules before entering a team. All forms can be returned via email. THE ENTRY FEE PER TEAM IS £20. THIS CAN BE PAID IN PERSON AT SPORTSPARK RECEPTION OR OVER THE PHONE ON: 01603 592398. Please quote your team name when booking. BOOKING FOR THE RUGBY FESTIVAL IS NOW OPEN. Entries will only be confirmed once payment has been received. DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES: MONDAY 24TH APRIL 9AM 2017 Booking may close early if the entry limit reaches capacity. Please book & pay early to avoid disappoint. ADMINISTRATION & ELIGIBILITY Administration for the festival will be managed by uea+sport, the Rugby Activator, The RFU and the Festival Volunteers. ALL TEAMS MUST MEET AT THE REGISTRATION POINT BEFORE 10:30am. Teams can be made up of any student or member of UEA staff and a restricted number of invitational players. To authorize an invitational player, please contact uea+sport, [email protected]. Invitational team entries may also be accepted. Each player may only be registered to 1 team from the Men’s, Women’s and Mixed Touch competitions. A player may enter the Mixed Touch competitions and one of the Men’s or Women’s competitions but fixture clashes may occur, so any team with players registering in 2 competitions are asked to ensure they have enough players to complete their fixtures. The Festival reserves the right to decline entry to the tournament for any team or individual. TEAM COLOURS Teams are requested to wear the same colours for match fixtures and where possible bring an alternative colour in case of a clash. TEAM NAMES Teams are requested not to use team names that may cause offence. All team names are to be accepted at the discretion of the Festival Administrators. REFEREES & LINESMEN All referees on the day will be fully qualified and provided by the RFU. Each team is expected to provide 1 nominated linesman for each game. This person may change from fixture to fixture but at least 1 person must be named on the Team Entry Form. SAFETY & EQUIPMENT Equipment - A player must not use equipment or wear anything that is dangerous to him/herself or another player, including any kind of jewellery. Jewellery which is potentially dangerous and cannot be easily removed should be taped. Players competing in the Men’s and Women’s competitions should use a gum shield at all time on the field of play. Clothing - Players must wear appropriate playing kit. Footwear - Players competing in the Men’s and Women’s competitions should wear appropriate footwear with studs. Players in the Mixed Touch competition should wear appropriate footwear, including but not limited to footwear with studs, blades or trainers. FIRST AID First Aid qualified staff will be on duty at all times, in the case of an injury please contact a Festival Administrator immediately.
