INFORMATION ON PAS OHIO STATE FAIR QUALIFICATION SHOWS
Please read the following materials about qualifying for the 2017 Ohio State Junior Fair horse show!
NEW FOR 2017 MEMBERS WILL REGISTER THE DAY OF SHOW
Please bring two copies of the registration form below along with payment.

All 4-H horse members who wish to participate MUST bring two copies of the attached ENTRY FORM to the

PAS Committee the day of the show either June 10 or June 25 . Payment must be a check or money order
only; Made payable to the Fairfield County Horse Advisors. All payments are Non-Refundable.
ALL ENTRIES REQUIRE a $10.00 per class Entry Fee. Entry must include a check or money order (NO CASH) made
payable to FAIRFIELD COUNTY HORSE ADVISORS, and will not be accepted without payment.

If members from Out of County want to register they must pay $10.00 per class, check or money order (NO CASH)
made payable to FAIRFIELD COUNTY HORSE ADVISORS, for each show they will attend.
(Out of County members who do not qualify at the first show must pay $10 per class for the second show, as well.) Out
of county members must provide a non-returnable copy of the Horse ID and Out of County form signed by their
Educator along with the required four pictures (of each side of the animal with member).

Two PAS events are scheduled in Fairfield County: June 10 & June 25, starting at 8:30 am. Both shows are open to all
registered 4-H members. If Fairfield County members (only) fail to qualify in particular classes at the first show, they
may try again to qualify in the failed classes at the second show without additional cost.

You must participate with your designated 2017 4-H horse or pony.

You should select four (4) classes in which to enter.

A youth must qualify in any two (2) classes in order to compete in the State Fair Junior Horse Show. If they qualify in
more than two classes, the youth can select which classes (maximum of four, they will enter in the State Fair Junior
Horse Show. At the State Fair Junior Horse Show youth will only be allowed to show in classes for which they qualified.
Youth should review the 2017 State Fair Junior Horse Show Schedule carefully for potential class conflicts when
selecting their classes. At State fair, classes will not be held for class conflicts

PONIES must be measured and registered for the year by the deadline of June 1st. Ponies NOT measured by June 1 ,
must be shown as a horse. Note: The Extension Office has a measuring tool. If you would like to use it, please
contact the Head Advisor of your club. The Ohio State Fair breaks ponies into 3 classes: small, medium and large, so
make sure you measure your pony the same way it will be measured at the Ohio State Fair. (Example) If your pony is
measured after recently being trimmed and shod, make sure your pony is recently trimmed and shod when you go to
the Fair.

If you register for the PAS Show as a pony, you must show at the Fairfield County Fair as a pony.
10.
Back Numbers will be issued only once. YOU MUST REGISTER AT THE WINDOW AT BOTH SHOWS. Please keep
your number for the second PAS Show.

Shows will be held rain or shine, however Jumping and/or Gymkhana could be cancelled if footing is not safe
Small Equine jump heights will be set per equipment from 12”-24”. Any class with no entries will be scratched.
The Fairfield County Horse Advisors are not responsible for any theft, loss, or damage to any person, property or horse.
