Job Description: Assistant Performance Basketball Coach Salary: £13,500 - £15,500 (35 academy term weeks). Commencing 21st August 2016 Oaklands College is looking for a high performance, professional basketball coach to join a dynamic coaching team as part of the Oaklands Academy and Wolves Basketball Club program. Oaklands Basketball Academy is one of the premier elite athlete development programs in the country across multiple sports set on beautiful campus grounds in the County of Hertfordshire, located 25 miles north of central London. The basketball academy is recognised as one of the countries leading academies in the Basketball England pathway and as an AASE academy we are truly player centred in an environment to develop international athletes. Oaklands Wolves Basketball Club is a national league club structure with boys and girls teams at u9, u11, u12, u14, u16, u18 age groups. In 2016 Oaklands has added its own WBBL franchise, the first professional women’s team in Hertfordshire, and a Division 4 mens National League team (closely linked with the partnership of Essex Leopards D1 team as part of the academy program). Oaklands College combines a unique opportunity for performance coaches to demonstrate delivery at the highest levels whilst at the same time continue to improve personal development in the field of coaching and program management. At Oaklands, coaches get access to world class coaching development from PDS Coach Mark Bennett MBE, as well as being part of a Wolfpack team of vast knowledge across medical, strength & conditioning, leadership and mentoring in performance sport. We are looking for a coach with excellent basketball knowledge and competency in team and individual practice delivery. A person with an open mindset, excellent professional and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across age groups and genders who can add to one of the fastest growing programs in the UK.
