Second Show Added for Jim Byrnes and Babe Gurr:
Top Talent Opening the Aaargon Music on the Grill Series
COQUITLAM, BC (June 17, 2014) – Dazzling nights of food, music, and fresh air are
anticipated for the 6th Annual Music on the Grill series at Evergreen Cultural Centre
this summer.
Local folk/roots singer, Babe Gurr opens for legendary blues rocker Jim Byrnes in
the first of three presentations on Saturday, July 5, 2014. Due to popularity a second
show has been added on Friday, July 4.
Start the evening with a gourmet dinner on the patio overlooking Lafarge Lake, add
a little live music while you dine, then finish it off with two top-notch musical acts in
the Studio Theatre. Note the dinner option for Saturday’s concert is sold out, with
concert-only tickets selling fast!

Jim Byrnes is one of Vancouver’s most popular musicians, as well as one of Canada’s best-known TV actors. His
records with the Sojourners and others have won him multiple Juno Awards and Canadian Folk Music Awards.

Babe Gurr is known for her warm and sultry voice, intelligent lyrics, memorable melodies and savvy personality. Her
sound mixes roots/blues with influences from around the world.
Pre-show entertainment will be provided by the Leo Bae Ensemble.
Music on the Grill is produced in partnership with Aaargon Dental in Coquitlam Centre. “Music and the arts have
always held a special place in my heart,” Dr. Rokshana Chherawala says, “This is Aaargon Dental Centre’s fourth
year sponsoring Music on the Grill.”
Also on the Music on the Grill roster are Carli & Julie Kennedy on July 19 and Zakiya Hooker featuring Chris James
on August 9. All concerts begin at 8pm. Bar opens at 6:30pm and dinner is served at 7pm.
Tickets are $52 for dinner and a concert, or $32 for a concert only. Subscriptions and group rates are available.
