Tuesday 20th September 2005 DANCING WITH THE STARS TODD MCKENNEY SEES RED Media Release Dancing with the Stars’ Todd McKenney and singer-songwriter Vanessa Amorosi are set to light up the stage at the Bone Marrow Donor Institute’s annual Red Ball on Saturday 8th October 2005. The Red Ball is one of Melbourne’s premier charity balls, which is supported by BMDI Patrons Hugh Jackman and Deborra-lee Furness and last year was attended by 1200 guests who raised a gross amount of over $450,000 for the work of the Bone Marrow Donor Institute. Other celebrities attending on the night include Tara Moss and Mark Pennell, Kerry Armstrong, Tottie Goldsmith, Tracey Curro, Alyse Platt, James Tomkins, Max Walker, Billy Browless and West Indian Cricketer Michael Holding. The Bone Marrow Donor Institute is dedicated to saving the lives of patients with leukaemia and other life-threatening illnesses through treatment, care, support and research. Projects include the BMDI Cord Blood Bank, Back On Track helping children and young Australians with cancer, the funding of medical research into prevention and cures, Support Groups and BMDI House which is a home-away-from-home for families and patients during long term treatment.
