Preparation Tips
• Ensure clubrooms, change rooms, toilets and umpires room are clean.
• Make sure soap, toilet paper and paper towels are available in the toilets.
• Put up a welcome sign on the home & opposition change rooms and umpires room.
• Find out the umpire/s allocated to the match through MyCricket.
• The welcome sign should have the name/s of the umpire/s.
• Opposition club logo can easily be copied via MyCricket Club Website.
• Welcome umpire/s and show them their room, provide stumps & brief on after match presentation.
• If playing on turf, rolling of the turf wicket should continue as players arrive.
Home Team Captains Role
• Captain greets and welcomes opposition captain upon arrival to the ground.
• Invites through the opposition captain each player to be part of the after match presentation.
• Brief the opposition captain to say a few words and present the Good Sports Player of the
Match for the opposition team.
• The presentation will occur soon after the conclusion of the match.
• Acknowledging that people need to get away quickly, particularly opposition players who may
have to travel across suburbs.
• Captain also meets and greets umpire/s and they are invited to participate in the after match
presentation.
• The umpire/s are briefed if they would like to pick one player from each team that exemplified
the Spirit of Cricket and be part of the presentation after the match.
Club Outreach Program
• Provide subsidies for disadvantaged people who would like to play cricket.
• Health Care Card holders.
• Build your case and apply for funding.
• Celebrate success stories.
• Promote inclusion.
Spirit of Cricket Presentation at the
conclusion of the Match
• Allocate an MC.
• Invite umpire/s to say a few words and to present the Spirit of Cricket Award (One for each team).
• Invite both captains to say a few words and present the Good Sports Player of the Match for each team.
