Plus ongoing funds from Foundation until June 2016 for MOOC. 2 IEEE Standards University: Six Tracks 1.On-Line University Experience Track: Pulling all websites under one umbrella to greatly increase web traffic and improve navigation by. COMPLETED 2. Publication Track: IEEE Standards Education e-Magazine is the flagship publication; publication of research articles in existing IEEE journals is another goal. COMPLETED 3. Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) Track: The MOOC, entitled “Innovation and Competition: Succeeding through Global Standards,” will help students develop a skillset around technical standards that enables them to compete more effectively in the global economy. Anticipated: March 2016 3 IEEE Standards University: Six Tracks 4.Standards Education Video Channel Track: Includes technical videos, interviews, Guest Lecture Series, eLearning modules. Additional work in 2016 and 2017 5. Workshop Track: Expansion of successful face-to-face oneday training workshops for students, faculty, and/or professionals aimed at greatly increasing attendees’ knowledge of standards. Additional work in 2016 and 2017 6. Standards Simulation Game Track: Only standards development simulation game developed by standards experts. Anticipated: 2016 4 Standards MOOC: Innovation and Competition: Succeeding through Global Standards Development The MOOC on Innovation and Competition: Succeeding through Global Standards will offer a practitioners’ view of standards and standards development aimed at graduatelevel students and educators in the fields of engineering, technology, and computing (ETC), business, economics, and law. Complete: Trial run, most filming of anchor professor, promotional video (by end of year), most tests and ancillary materials, some SME filming. To be completed in January: Balance of filming of anchor professor, rest of SME filming, final tests and ancillary materials. “Build” of MOOCs will begin in January-February. Course opens in March 2016. 5 Videos We are scheduled to complete 8 more videos in 2016 to add to our Video Library. And we will work with Texas State U on incorporating game into curriculum. 8 Revenue Generation In 2016, we have projected generation of $23.2K in revenue: –$16.0 from MOOC (certificates and licenses) –$7.2K from sale of eLearning Courses 9
