Adopting Global Best Practices
International Validation - Linguistic
SDL's professional testing solutions offer
qualified international linguistic testers and
scalable, formal testing processes in
specialized and secured localization test
facilities. SDL's testing processes uncover
many issues that even the best quality
assurance steps cannot uncover and enable
translation error correction before release of
translated content. Throughout the testing
process, SDL's team of testers, translators
and engineers will work with you to ensure
your products meet the language and cultural
requirements of global markets.
SDL Sound Studios
SDL’s in-house recording and editing studios
offer a unique solution for audio, video and
gaming localization. SDL brings together
modern studio facilities for audio localization,
specialist software for graphics localization
and skilled programming teams for games
localization.
We provide end-to-end solutions for all of your
multilingual needs including script production,
translation, engineering, QA and full audio
production. Trust your multimedia projects to
SDL:
 Mobile, Online or console games
 Video subtitling
 Online demos and podcasts
 Global conference material
Terminology Management
We ensure correct handling of essential
technical and official terms such as product
names, acronyms, abbreviations and rules of
usage. SDL Language Analysts and global
linguistic teams work closely with Developers
to invoke proper terminology usage utilizing
specialized SDL tools like SDL MultTerm.
Translation Memory (TM)
By collaborating with SDL, Developers enjoy
the benefits of industry-leading technology like
SDL Trados®, used to leverage translation
memory. Translation Memory, or TM, is a type
of internal database that stores text segments
previously translated. At the beginning of any
project, the content, whether it be source
strings or documents, are cross-referenced
against this database to identify repetitions
and previously translated content. If the
system finds a match or fuzzy match, that
word or phrase automatically incurs a lower
cost.
We leverage these TMs across departments
and geographies, in turn improving
consistency, reducing costs and speeding
turnaround. We keep this data secure and
confidential; this your IP.
