Ice Palace is proud to host celebrity hockey game
NHL alumni, MLAs and friends Face-Off for Alzheimer’s
What:
Members of the Alberta Legislative Assembly will put party politics aside when they take
to the ice at West Edmonton Mall’s Ice Palace Thursday night to face off against a team
of NHL alumni and amateur hockey players. The Ice Palace is proud to host this game of
shinny that has one goal: to raise awareness of the Pro-Am Face Off for Alzheimer’s, a
charity hockey tournament created to raise funds for the Alzheimer Society of Alberta and
Northwest Territories.
Thursday’s exhibition hockey game will help kick off the Edmonton edition of the 2013
Pro-Am Face Off for Alzheimer’s hockey tournament – a unique fundraising initiative that
provides amateur hockey players the opportunity to play alongside former NHL greats
while raising crucial funds in support of Alzheimer’s research and care. Proceeds from
the tournament go directly to the Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories.
Players in Thursday night’s game will also participate in the tournament which takes
place April 27 and April 28 at the Leduc Recreation Centre.
People wishing to support the Pro-Am Face Off for Alzheimer’s can do so by visiting
