Games run for 1 hour and 20 minutes. All play stops at 1:20 and everyone needs to be off the fields and out of the dugouts 1 hour and 30 minutes after the scheduled start time to give the field staff time to get the field ready for the next game. Final score will revert back to end of the last complete inning. There is a 5 run per inning rule for all the innings, there are no open innings. Pitchers are allowed to pitch a maximum of 3 innings per game, 1 pitch counts as an inning. Mites The Mite coaches and players will be introduced to the concepts of the Learn to Play program under which our Mite program is run. U12 Squirts The squirts will be playing full blown softball games, complete with umpires and everything else one expects to see at the game. As per last season, there will be no stealing home in the U12 division. This means a runner on third cannot steal home on any overthrow, missed or dropped ball between the pitcher and the catcher. It is very important that we allow our pitchers and catchers to focus on the basics of their positions without the added distraction of a runner on third. As well, this rule keeps the bat in the batters hand and gives them the opportunity to work on their hitting. U14, U16, U18 Peewees, Bantams, Midgets There are no league specific rules for these three divisions. All divisions will adhere to Softball Canada rules except where a league rule exists. The goal of this tournament is to shake off some of the winter rust, get to know your team mates, your coaches and the rest of the players in your division. We would like to Thank all our Sponsors for their generous donations!
