September 2016 Dear Parents and Guardians We are writing to inform you about one of the best opportunities St John’s has to offer. Every year, St John’s and all of the other SEK and IES schools come together to compete in the InterSEK competition. This year is the sports InterSEK and it will be hosted in Guadalajara, Mexico! Pupils from Year 7 upwards have an opportunity of a lifetime. They will be able to mix with pupils from all of the schools linked to SEK and IES. They will share cultures and compete in sport in one of the most amazing environments I have ever witnessed. They will also receive fantastic care from the host families and will visit some of the best local attractions. Additionally this year we are introducing a pre-competition training trip to our sister school, Boca Prep in Florida. This will take place a couple of days before and will therefore be part of the whole trip. We would love to host an evening to give you more information on the event but first we would like to know if you are interested in your son or daughter taking part. Our school will link up with Holy Trinity School to produce a team to compete in the competition and numbers are limited. We will need to work on a first come, first served basis. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and a real advocate for what we as a school offer our pupils on an international standing. The basic information you need to know: Dates - departing 4th May - returning 14th May 2017 Places - Boca Raton, Florida to Guadalajara, Mexico Price - Approximately £1000 (If pupils confirm earlier, we are more able to contain the price within £1000). Please contact Mike Burgess or Jacey Lee regarding your interest for the trip and we hope to then hold a further information evening for parents and pupils interested. We really hope you do consider this fantastic opportunity. Kind regards Miss Jacey Lee Teacher of PE/Games and PSHE Assistant Housemistress
