Thanks to Deanna Ebel and Janette you will see a significant change in our silent auction. From the Silent Auction Committee “If you attended Rotary on Monday, you have now seen for yourself what some of our ideas are on how to show the silent auction items differently this year. Some members were very excited and wanted to know how to help. If you would like to help make these items show better please take a look at the attached list for ideas on gift packages. If you would like to contribute any of the items that bring the packages together- i.e.- baskets, tool box, tackle box, bottles of wine, etc. we would appreciate your contribution for an item or multiple items and/or if you have a specific package that you would like to see put together we would love to have your ideas. Thank you!!” FRC Auction 2008 This is a club event – a whole club event. To help make sure that every member understands what this means, the board has approved the following: Every club member will be responsible for the following four duties: To work in the auction process if asked; To sell or buy at least four auction tickets; To sell or buy at least $100 worth of raffle tickets; To obtain item(s) for auction with at least $100 “anticipated auction” value. ADVERTTISING OPPORTUNITIES Program Sponsorships with ad□ ¼ page & two event tickets - $250 □ ½ page & four event tickets - $500 □ Full page & 8 tickets - $1,000 □ Business Card ad (3 ½ x 2) - $50 Contact jef Morgan (336-605-1010 or [email protected] INSTRUCTIONS FOR SILENT AUCTION DONATIONS: • If you have secured a donated item to be included in the silent auction that may need to be grouped with other items please contact Janette McNeill at [email protected], or 336454-1126, Extension 4103. These items need to be turned in no later than February 21, 2008 to accommodate time to prepare the grouping. • The Silent Auction committee is requesting your assistance with contacting local businesses for items for our auction. To that end, you received an email on Wednesday which included the “restaurant assignment list” (so that we avoid several people soliciting at the same restaurant.) Please send an email back to Deanne Ebel at [email protected] to let us know which restaurants you would be willing to contact. This is the same list that made it partially around at Monday’s meeting. We hope to have a list of businesses other than restaurants available for next Monday. Thank you for taking part in the Furnitureland Rotary Auction. About the raffle items: • Gary Simon will contribute a diamond pendant • Beco, Inc. will contribute a 10kw – 10 circuit transfer gas operated home generator. Included in this package is the electrical leg of the installation. Connection to the gas supply is not included. A 10kw generator is capable of providing power for HVAC, refrigerator and microwave. It will not power an entire house during an emergeny power outage. Randy Carda indicates that Beco has agreed to let the winner upgrade to a more powerful unit, applying the value of the generator towards the cost of the desired unit. (Hey folks, don’t read this paragraph as a formal contract or promise.) FOCUS ON ROTARY 2008 Next year’s Rotary theme is “Make Dreams Real”. Do you have a photo that illustrates this theme?
