Club Liaison Meeting
Firstly a big thank you to all Club committee members who provide a vital role in assisting
with the delivery and development of our sport – your contribution is truly appreciated by
Mid Canterbury Hockey.
A Club liaison meeting will be held on Tuesday 7 March, 7.00 pm in the Turf Pavilion. It is
important that Club representatives attend this meeting to discuss this year’s hockey
season. Please email [email protected] to confirm attendance by Tuesday 28
February. An agenda will be sent out prior to the meeting.
U18 WOMEN’S TRIALS
Mid Canterbury Hockey are running
U18 women’s trials at the NBS Hockey
turf on Monday 13th February and
Monday 20th February from 5.15pm6.00pm. Claire Marshall and Rachel
Curd have been appointed as coaches.
To be eligible you must be under the
age of 18 as of 1st January 2017.
Tournament will be in Carterton 10th –
15th July with an estimated cost of
$1,500. Team fundraising will take
place.
SMALL STICKS (KIWI) HOCKEY
INTRODUCING BASIC HOCKEY SKILLS TO CHILDREN, 5 YEARS AND OLDER, THROUGH GAME BASED
ACTIVITIES WHICH FOCUS ON HAVING FUN!
DATES: WED 8TH MARCH AND WED 15TH MARCH
TIMES: 3.45-4.45PM
VENUE: MID CANTERBURY NBS HOCKEY TURF, ASHBURTON
$5 FEE FOR TWO SESSIONS, PAY AND REGISTER AT THE FIRST SESSION. ALL EQUIPMENT PROVIDED.
Coaching Development Officer, Rachel Curd, has organised for experienced Canterbury Hockey
players to deliver this course.
Suitable for players Year 3 upwards
Dates and times:
Tuesday 7th March from 4pm
Tuesday 14th March from 4pm
Tuesday 21th March from 4pm
(Final session times to be confirmed depending on numbers)
one hour of coaching per session
Goalkeeper training also available
Coaches are encouraged to attend to watch the delivery of the drills.
REGISTRATIONS CLOSE 1ST MARCH – NUMBERS LIMITED
Cost - $40 per player for all three sessions

For your information ……The JJ Hunt Memorial Fund was established from donations received in
memory of John Hunt, a Wakanui hockey player. Players and coaches are able to make applications
to the trustees of the Fund for grants to cover coaching expenses. If you think this will help you to

are due in before Friday 10 March and player registrations due Friday 17 March. We have a Club liaison
meeting on Tuesday 7 March and team entries can be brought to this meeting.
