UCC RESEARCH COMMUNICATOR OF THE YEAR AWARD
NOMINATION FORM
This award recognizes researchers who have taken a proactive approach to sharing their research or
opinions on research issues and policies with the general public.
Nomination Guidelines
Nominations will be accepted for the Research Communicator of the Year as part of the annual UCC
Research Awards programme.
Eligibility
 All UCC employees are eligible for nomination.
 Submissions must be accessible to and intended for a broad, general public audience.
 Relevant to topics, events and issues of societal importance.
Nomination
 Self-nominations and nominations by UCC peers will be accepted.
 Nominees must be registered UCC staff members.
 Nominations may only be made using this form. Failure to complete or comply with the
requirements of the nomination procedure will result in withdrawal without review. Canvassing
will automatically disqualify.
Submission formats
 Op-Ed in News Outlet (entries must be self-authored and published in a news outlet).
 New Media (entries may include videos, radio segments, podcast, and other works of new
media).
 Faculty Cited in Media (entries must include quotes or references to UCC research from more
than one news article. Entrants must be evaluated based on number of articles in which the
faculty member was cited. Faculty affiliation with UCC must be identified).
