Season 2016/17
As the cold weather is well entrenched, plans are now being made for the upcoming 2016/17 cricket season. Planning is
now underway for the forthcoming season and it is important for everyone to read the below information. Registration
Night is coming up with the season commencing on the first Friday in October.
We look forward to seeing all players and families returning for another enjoyable and successful season.
Registration Night – Friday 2nd September
The season’s registration will be held on a Friday 2nd September between 5pm and 7pm at the clubrooms. Full details will
be sent out to all in the upcoming weeks. Great effort has been made by the committee to ensure player fees remain at
the same cost as last season with once again training shirts being provided for all players as well as playing shirts free for all
new players.
The club will be looking to field 2 x U16’s, 2 x U14’s, 3 to 4 U12’s competitive teams, U12 Modified non competitive team,
T20 Blast team and In2Cricket program
New players are more than welcome.
Under 18’s – Expression of Interest
The club is looking to obtain interests from players who like to be part of an inaugural Riverside under 18 team for 2016/17.
The club has never fielded an under 18 team before and if you or if you are aware of any players who would like to play in
an Under 18 team can you please let me know before Registration Night. We have received interest from a couple of
players so far, so if we can attract more players we would like to enter a team for the upcoming season.
Coaches – Expression of Interest
To be able to field so many teams, we will be once again looking for volunteers to coach teams during the season. If you are
interested or know of anyone who is interested, let me know before or on Registration Night. All coaches are encouraged
to complete a Level 1 coaching course which the Club will reimburse.
DVCA Girls Competition
The DVCA are looking to commence a start up Girls competitions this season. Initially they are looking to start T20 Blast
teams as well as commence an under 14 Girls competition on Saturday mornings. Once again if you know of girls who
would interested in being part of the new competition let me know.
