II.Licensing
MeetPro2willpromptyoutoenteryourlicensekeyifyouhavenotdoneso.Enterthe
licensekeyprovidedtoyoubyDirectAthletics.
Note:Eachlicensekeymaybeusedonalimitednumberofcomputers.Ifyoureachthe
limit,youwillhavetode-activateyourlicenseononeofyourcomputerstoinstall
MeetProonanewcomputer.Tode-activatealicenseonacomputer,openMeetPro,go
tothe“MeetPro”menuandclick“De-activate.”
MeetPro1andMeetPro2
MeetPro(“MeetPro1”)andMeetPro2usethesamelicenses.Bothmaybeinstalledon
thesamecomputeratthesametime.Bothwillcounttowardtheactivationlimiton
yourlicense.
III.MeetDatabaseBasics
IfyouhavenevercreatedameetinMeetPro,MeetProwillopentoasamplemeet.
Whilethismeetdatabaseisfullyfunctional,youshouldcreateanewdatabaseforyour
firstmeet.

AddingEvents
Yournewmeethasnoevents.Toaddevents,clickthe“AddNewEvent”buttonortype
CTRL-C(⌘-CforMac)whileontheEventstab.The“NewEvent”windowwillappear.
Thereare4typesofevents:Run,Field,RelayandMulti.Selectyourtypeofevent.Enter
yourotherconfigurationdataandclick“Add”.Youreventwillbecreated,butthe“Add
NewEvent”windowwillremainopen.Noticethatthegenderhasautomatically
changedandtheeventnumberhasincreased.Youarereadytoaddyournextevent.
Whenyouhaveaddedallyourevents,click“Cancel.”
Note:CTRL-C(⌘-CforMac)opensthe

AddingAthletes
Yournewmeethasnoathletes.OpentheAthletestabandclick“AddNewAthlete”or
typeCTRL-C(⌘-CforMac.)TheNewAthletewindowappears.Entertheathlete’sname

andschoolyear,ifany.Selecttheathlete’steam.Iftheathletehasnoteam,leavethe
teamselectorto“Unattached.”Thecompetitornumberisautomaticallysettothenext
availablenumber.EnteranyIDsfortheathlete(DA,TFRRS,USATF,AAU).
Youmayalsosubmitentriesforthisathlete.Checktheboxesintheeventsinwhichthis
athleteisentered.Enterseedmarksintothe“Marks”columnandthenameanddateof
themeetatwhichthesemarkswereachievedintothe“Note”and“Date”column.You
willbeabletoaddmoreentrieslater.
Click“Add”toaddthisathlete.
IV.WorkingWithEvents,TeamsandAthletes
Events
WhentheEventstabisopen,youcanmodifyaneventbydouble-clickingit.Usethe
genderandeventtypefiltersabovetheeventsgridtonarrowthelistofevents.To
deleteanevent,clicktheredcirclewiththewhite“x”nexttothatevent.
Sessions:Asessionisagroupofeventroundsinchronologicalorder.Click“Edit
Sessions”toopentheSessionsscreen.Click“AddNewSession”tocreateasession.
Selectasessionfromthesessionlistatthetopofthescreenandaddeventroundsto
thatsessionbydraggingthemfromtheEventsgridtotheSchedulegrid(doubleclickinganeventintheEventsgridwillalsoaddittothebottomoftheschedule).Once
youassignaroundtoasessionyoucanaddatimetoit.Toremoveaneventfroma
session,doubleclicktheeventintheSchedulegrid.ClosetheSessionsscreenby
clicking“HideSessions.”
Teams
WhentheTeamstabisopen,youcanmodifyateambydouble-clickingit.Todeletea
team,clicktheredcirclenexttotheteam.
Athletes
WhentheAthletestabisopen,youcanmodifyanathletebydouble-clickingthe
athlete.Todeleteanathlete,clicktheredcirclenexttotheathletename.
Oneathleteisalwaysselected.Clickanathletetoselectthatathlete.Theeligible
eventsforthatathlete,withanyentriesforthatathlete,appearbelowtheathletesgrid.
Hereyoucanadd,delete,andmodifyentries.Theeligibleeventsgridhasafilter,“All”
or“OnlyEntered.”IfOnlyEnteredisselectedyouwillseeonlyeventsinwhichthat
athleteisenteredandwillnotbeabletomakenewentriesunlessyouswitchbackto
“All.”

Filters:Usethegenderandteamfiltertonarrowthelistofathletes.Additionally,you
cansearchforanathletebynameorcompetitornumberusingthe“athlete”filter.
Divisions
DivisionsinMeetProcanbeusedintwoways:PerEventandPerTeam/Athlete.Touse
divisions,click“UseDivisions”whencreatingameetorinMeetSetup.Select“Per
Event”,“PerTeam/Athlete,”orboth.Setupyourdivisionnamesin“DivisionsSetup."
DivisionsPerEvent:Divisionsareassignedtoevents.Eacheventwillhaveadivision
andthedivisionnameforthiseventwillappearinallreportsandinSeeding,Enter
ResultsandAthletescreens.Entrieswillimportintoeventsbasedondivisionnumbers
(thenumberscorrespondingtothedivisionnamesinDivisionSetup).Assigndivisions
toeventsintheAddEventandEditEventscreens.
DivisionsPerTeam/Athlete:Divisionsareassignedtoteamsandathletes.Divisions
areassignedintheAddTeam,EditTeam,AddAthleteandEditAthletescreens.An
athletebydefaultusesthedivisionofhis/herteam,soassigningdivisionstoathletesis
onlynecessarytodistinguishtheathletefromtherestofhis/herteam.Athletesof
multipledivisionscanbeenteredinthesameeventsandscoredseparatelyusing“Score
byDivision.”
ScoringbyDivision:InScoringSetup,checking“ScorebyDivision”willscoreeach
divisionseparately(inbothdivisionmodes)andallowdifferentscoringtablestoby
usedforeachdivision.
UsingBothDivisionModes:Ifboth“PerEvent”and“PerTeam/Athlete”arechecked,
division1isreservedasanemptydivisionandwillbeappliedtoeventsforwhichno
divisionisassigned.
V.RelayEntries
OpentheRelaystabtomanagerelayentries.Relayeventsarelistedonthetopleft
grid,onerelayeventisalwaysselected.Clickarelayeventtochangetheselection.
Thetopmiddlegridshowsrelayentriesfortheselectedevent.Oneentryisalways
selected.Clickanentrytochangetheselection.Youcanmodifytheselectedentryby
typingintheMark,NoteorDatefields(theConvertedfieldupdatesautomatically).To
deleteanentry,double-clickit.
Toaddanewentrytotheselectedevent,doubleclickateamfromthelistofteamsat
thetopright.Theentryiscreatedusingthenextavailablerelaysquadletterforthat
teamandnomark.ClicktheNTonthenewentrytoenteramark.Toaddathletesto
yournewentry,selecttheentryanddouble-clicktheathletesonthebottomleftinthe

appropriateorder.Youcanre-ordertherelayathletesbydragginganddropping.
Double-clickanathletetoremovetheathletefromtherelay.
VI.Seeding
TheSeedingtablistseveryeventround,exceptadvancementroundswithno
advancers.Multipleeventroundsmaybeselected;clickaneventroundtotoggleits
selectionstatus.Whenyouhaveselectedtheeventsyouwishtoseed,click“Seed
Selected.”
Youwillbepromptedthroughtheseedingprocessforeacheventintheorderthey
appearontheSeedingtab.Thefirstpromptasksifyouwishtopickbreakpoints.The
defaultis“no”forrunningeventsand“yes”forfieldevents,hitENTERtoacceptthe
default.
Ifyouoptedtopickbreakpoints,youwillbepromptedtoselectthebreakpoints
byclickingthecheckboxnexttotheathleteswhoshouldbefirstinanewheat.
Click“Apply”whenfinished.
Ifyouoptednottopickbreakpoints,youwillbepromptedtospecifythe
numberofheats(theminimumissuggested)andthelanerandomization
selection.NotethatHeatAssignment,HeatOrder,LaneAssignment,Number
ofLanesandRoundsareallsetintheEventstab.
AutoTeam-Split:Whenseedinganeventusingserpentineheatassignment,the
autoteam-splitcheckboxisavailable.Whenchecked,athletesfromthesame
teamwhowouldbeassignedtothesameheataresplitupinaccordancewith
NFHSRule5-6Art.4.Checkedbydefaultforhighschoolmeets.
Whenaneventisseededyouwillbepromptedtoreviewtheresultsoftheseeding
process.Onthisscreenyoucandraganddropathletes(orrelays)fromone
lane/positiontoanother.Youcandeleteaseedbydouble-clickingtheathlete/relay.
Youcancreatenewentriesbydragginganathletefromthelistofeligibleathletestoan
emptylaneorposition.Usethe“AddNewHeat”and“ClearEmptyHeats”buttonsto
addanddeleteheats.
Click“Done”whenyouarefinishedreviewingtheseedingforanevent.Ifthereis
anothereventselected,theseedingprocesswillbeginforthatevent.
Double-clickingaseededeventwillbringuptheseedingreviewscreen.
ManualSeeding
Toassignathletestoheatsandlanes/positionswithoutgoingthroughtheseeding
process,double-clickanunseededeventroundontheSeedingtab.Theseedingreview
screenwillappear.Beforeseedingyoumustaddaheattothisround.Click“AddHeat.”
Addasmanyheatsasdesired.Whenseedingathletesthiswaythelistofeligible

athletesshowsonlyathletesenteredinthisevent,bydefault.Draganathletefromthe
listofeligible/enteredathletestoadesiredlane/position.Repeatuntiltheeventis

screen.)
Toassignteamstolanes,gotoMeet•LanesSetupandclickthe“TeamLanesSetup”
button(thisbuttonwillonlyappearif“EnableTeamLanes”ischecked).InTeamLanes
Setup,assignateamtoeachlaneinthetwodifferentteamlaneassignmentschemes,
“A”and“B”.Itisrecommendedyouimportentriesbeforeassigningteamstolanes.
Whencreatingoreditingarunningevent,a“TeamLanes”checkboxwillappearnextto
the“RuninLanes:”checkboxwhenthe“RuninLanes:”boxischecked(andteamlanes
isenabled).ChecktheTeamLanesboxtoenableTeamLanesforthisevent.Youwill
thenbeabletodesignatewhichlaneassignmentscheme(“A”or“B”)touseandhow
manyheatstoseedusingteamlanes.
WhenaneventisconfiguredtouseTeamLanes,thedesignatednumberofheatswill
beseededusingthedesignatedTeamLaneassignmentscheme,andremainingheats
willbeseededusingtheregularseedconfigurationofthatevent.
VII.TheEntryPad
OnboththeEventsandSeedingtabs,thereisan“Entries”columndisplayingthe
numberofentriesinaneventorround.ClickingthisnumberbringsuptheEntryPad.
TheEntryPadlistsallentriesinanevent(orround),allowstheusertoscratchormodify
existingentriesaswellascreatenewentries.Notethatthisfeatureduplicates
functionalityexistingintheAthletes,RelaysandSeedingtabs.

Thetopgridofthe“EnterResults”tabshowseventroundswithentries/advancers.One
eventroundisalwaysselected.Clickaneventroundtochangetheselection.
Thebottomgridshowstheentries/advancersinaparticularheat/flightoftheselected
eventround.Usethe↑and↓buttonstochangetheheat/flightselection.Youmayenter
resultsbytypingthemdirectlyinthe“Time”fieldofaparticularentry.Youmayalso
importresultsfromFinishLynxorotherFAT(FullyAutomaticTiming)system.
FinishLynxandOtherFATSystems
TheconnectiontoanFATsystem,includingFinishLynx,isconfiguredusingthe
Interfacesmenu.GotoInterfaces•F.A.T.•SetuptoconfiguretheFATdatadirectory.
GotoInterfaces•F.A.T.•UpdateStartListstowritestartlistdatatothatdirectory.
ToimportresultsfromFAT,clicktheGetEventResultsbutton(abovetheentriesgridin
EnterResults).IfFATresultsfilesmatchingtheeventandroundarefound,theresults
datawillbeimported.MeetProwillimportsplitsfromFATwhenavailable.Toimport
justthecurrentlyselectedheatorflight,toggletheGetEventResultsbuttontoGet
HeatResults.
Auto-ImportResults:OncetheFATinterfacehasbeensetup,the“StartAuto-Import”
optionintheFATmenubecomesavailable.Startauto-importtoautomaticallyimport
resultsfromFATasresultsareaddedtoFATdatadirectory.
AlwaysImportWithoutPrompting:Thisoptionwillimportresults,addingmissing
athletes,teamsandseeds,withoutbringinguptheresultspreviewwindow.When
usingAuto-Import,thisoptionwillalsocreatemissingheats.
MatchByName:ThisoptionwillnotattempttomatchFATresultstoathletesinthe
databaseusingcompetitornumbers.Usethisoptionwhencompetitornumbersin
MeetProdonotmatchthoseintheFATsystem.
Don’tWriteStartLists:Ifthisoptionischecked,MeetProwillnotwriteanydatatothe
FATdatadirectory.

TieBreaking

inthelistofeventroundsavailableinEnterResults.Checking/uncheckingthisboxwill
togglethescoredstatusofanevent.
Complete:Inadditiontothe“Scored”checkboxintheeventroundslist,thereisalsoa
“Complete”checkbox.Checking/uncheckingthisboxwilltoggletheeventround’s

DivisionByEvent:
Whentherearemultipleeventswiththesamegenderanddistance(e.g.twoBoy’s5k

StartingandStoppingtheFeed

SeedScreenLocking
Inmulti-usermode,openingaManageSeedingscreenorotherwisedoinganyseeding

doinganyseedingoperationonthateventandrounduntilthelockisreleased.
ReportsOnly

TheFieldEventWebAppServerisaserverthatrunsinMeetPro.Theserver
providesawebappthatallowsfieldeventresultstobeenteredviaiPhone,Android
phoneorcomputerusinganyHTML5-compliantwebbrowser(Chromeis
recommended).
Theservershouldbestartedafterfieldeventsareseeded.Tostarttheserver,first
configuretheserverbygoingtoInterfaces•FieldEventWebAppServer•Setup.
SelectyourIPaddress,portandpassword.TheIPaddressshouldbeyourcomputer’s
addressonyourlocalnetwork.Yourcomputermustbeonanetworkandthenetwork
mustallowtrafficbetweenpeercomputers(notallnetworksallowthis).Astandard
homerouterwillallowtrafficbetweenyourcomputerandiPhoneorotherdevice.Once
