Southwestern/Eastern Ontario Development Fund
Overview:
Program supports businesses, municipalities and Not-For-Profit for economic development in
Southwestern Ontario in projects that create jobs, encourage innovation, collaboration,
cluster development and attract private sector investment. Project must invest more than $100,000, have
private sector support and be used for activities that are new to the organization.
Funding:
• Up to 50% of eligible costs to a maximum of $1.5 million
Eligible Applicants:
• Businesses, municipalities and Not-For-Profit organizations
• Advanced manufacturing
• Life sciences
• Information Technology
• Tourism and cultural industries
Eligible Activities:
• Projects that target investment attraction and job creation
Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund (OCIF)
Funding: Up to 90% of total project costs up to a maximum of $2 million over life of program
Eligible Applicants: Municipalities that have a population of less than 100,000
Eligible Projects:

Connecting Links
Overview:
Program will provide $20 million in 2016-17 to help municipalities repair roadways and
bridges that connect two ends of a provincial highway through a community or to a border
crossing.
Funding:
• Up to 90% of eligible costs to a maximum of $3 million
Eligible Activities:
• Design, construction, renewal, rehabilitation and replacement of connecting link
infrastructure
Deadline: October 21, 2016
Clean Water and Wastewater Fund
Overview:
Federal program designed to accelerate short-term community investments, while supporting the
rehabilitation and modernization of drinking water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure.
Funding:
• Up to 75% of a project’s total eligible costs up to a noted maximum allocated amount within their
CWWF Letter of Allocation
Eligible Activities: Funding is retroactive to April 1, 2016.
• New construction/rehabilitation of a wastewater treatment asset
• Feasibility studies on water treatment system optimization
Eligible Expenses:
• Environmental assessment costs, engineering costs, project management, materials, construction,
contingency costs
Deadline: October 31, 2016
Ontario Trillium Foundation
Eligible Applicants:
• Municipalities with a population of less than 20,000
Project Examples:
• Sports Programming (soccer fields, trails, arenas, splash pads)
• Environmental (species at risk etc.)
• Capital Grants (historic buildings, youth Programming)
• Knowledge Sharing (studies, planning etc.)

Green Municipal Fund
Overview:
Program provides funding and knowledge services to support sustainable communities
and aims to improve impact of climate change.
Funding:
• Up to 80% of eligible expenditures in grants, loans or mix
Eligible Activities:
• Plans
• Feasible studies, pilot projects that are focused on brownfields, water, waste, energy or
greenhouse gas
Eligible Expenses:
• Permits, acquisition of documents
• Capital expenditures
• Professional or technical fees
New Building Canada Fund
Overview:
$14 billion fund supports projects of national, regional and local significance that promote economic
growth, job creation and productivity.
National Infrastructure Component (NIC): CURRENTLY CLOSED
• Highways, major roads, public transit, rail infrastructure, airports, intelligent transportation systems
(ITS), disaster mitigation infrastructure
• Threshold for a minimum project size of $100 Million
Provincial-Territorial Infrastructure Component (PTIC):
National and Regional Projects & Small Communities Fund
• Highways, roads, public transit infrastructure, wastewater, innovation, drinking water, recreation,
culture, tourism, green energy, connectivity and broadband, ferry services & more
Funding:
• Maximum contribution from all sources will be up to 1/3 of total eligible costs of project
• Up to 50% of eligible project cost
