Funds are raised for the Gwinnett Youth and Senior Citizens Scholarship Fund, Event runs June through September 2009. The Gwinnett Parks Foundation Corporate Challenege mission is to assure that all children and senior citizens have the opportunity to participate in recreational and athletic activities in Gwinnett County. Gwinnett’s youth and senior citizens who cannot afford to attend summer camps, swim lessons, and other recreation classes can now do so thanks to the funds raised by the Gwinnett Parks Foundation Corporate Challenege for the Gwinnett Youth and Senior Citizen Scholarship Fund. Since money is a little tight at home, we weren’t able to sign Brey up for these classes. — Mother of Scholarship Recipient The Team Leader Handles registration and participant waivers. l Attends Corporate Challenge meetings. l Selects Activity Captains for all activities. l Ensures all captains receive the handbook with activity rules. l Coordinates organization equipment, needs, questions, participant schedules and provides team T-shirts. l How Does It Work? The Activity Captains Organizations and companies compete with each other in a series of activities. l Each organization selects a TEAM LEADER as the contact between the organization and the Corporate Challenge office. Every employee/ member of the company/organization is eligible and encouraged to participate. Participant Requirements Minimum age is 18 (with exception of 5K, which is open to all). l Must be employed by or be a member of the organization entering the team. l Must work in the metropolitan Atlanta area (participant must carry proof of employment or proof of membership at all times.) l Waiver/Insurance: Each participant must sign a waiver of liability before they compete. Individual players and/or their team are responsible for insurance. Prepare the team to play. l Ensure that all team members understand the activity rules. l Secure practice times and places. l Assure that the team is on time for each activity.
