Please park your trailers on the gravel areas to
avoid getting stuck. Due to staffing we may be
unavailable to pull out any vehicles that get stuck.
All Hunter classes will be judged on performance;
including way of going, jumping style and
soundness. Manners and suitability will be
emphasized in Pony, Children’s and Adult
Amateur Hunter classes.
All Equitation classes will be judged on hands,
seat, guidance, and control.
You may join or renew your BHSA and/or your
VHSA Memberships at the Secretary Stand.

not be accepted.
DIRECTIONS
From Northern VA: 95 South to Exit 130 B (Rt. 3 West). Go six traffic
lights to a left on Salem Church Rd. (Rt. 639). Continue to Harrison Rd.
(Rt. 620). Turn Left onto Harrison Rd. Go approximately ½ Mile to
Hazelwild Farm on the left.
From Richmond: 95 North to exit 126. Take Rt. 1 North off exit to Rt.
620 (Harrison Rd.). Turn left on Harrison Rd. Continue approximately 1
mile and cross over I-95. Hazelwild Farm is the first turn on the right.
From Southern MD: Take U.S. 301 South across Potomac River. Turn
right on Rt. 206 towards King George. Turn right on Rt. 3 West.
Continue about 30 miles to Rt. 1. Follow Rt. 1 South to Rt. 620 (Harrison
Rd.). Turn right on Harrison Rd. Go approximately 1 mile, cross over I95. Hazelwild Farm in the first turn on the right.
From Warrenton: Take 17 South to 95 South. Go one exit to 130 B.
Follow Northern VA directions above.
From Culpeper: Take Rt. 3 East to Rt. 620 (Harrison Rd.). Turn right
onto Harrison Rd. Continue approximately 4 miles to Hazelwild Farm on
the left.

jumping 2’6” or higher. These riders are not eligible for AA eq., pony eq., or children’s
eq. Ponies must be ridden by Jr’s. Horses and ponies may cross enter into other
divisions. Fences 2’3”.

Open to riders in their 1st or 2nd year of showing over fences at 2’0” or higher as of
12/1/16. Riders competing in the Student Equitation Division are limited to 2 yrs only,
whether they compete over fences or not. Judged on equitation. Courses may be trotted.

Open to horses ridden by Juniors and Adult Amateurs. Adults may ride ponies
not entered in a pony division. Fences: 2’6” or 3’0”. May be split if entries
warrant.
SHOW RULES
1. ASTM/SEI certified helmets must be worn by ALL RIDERS when
mounted. Proper attire is required. Jackets may be excused by the judge.
2. Class Specification – Every class offered herein, which is covered by the
rules and regulations of the current BHSA and VHSA rule book, will be
conducted and judged accordingly. The judge’s decision is always final.
3. All exhibitors must be checked in at the in gate when their class is called.
4. Entries are $16.00 per class. Non Showing fee of $20.00 for the day.
5. Entries will not be accepted without the release on the entry form signed.
6. All ages are as of December 1, 2016.
7. All horses/ponies on show grounds must present a negative coggins test
taken within one year for each entry. Please bring a copy to leave with
the show secretary.
8. Entries must leave a blank check with the show secretary upon
registering. $50.00 will be charged for returned checks.
9. Points will be counted 10,6,4,2,1,.5, Champion 10, Reserve Champion 6.
Point system is subject to change per VHSA/BHSA rule change.
10. Show management reserves the right to refuse entries, cancel and/or
combine classes if necessary.
11. Exhibitors show at their own risk.
12. Dogs must be on a leash, and free and clear of any equine on the
premises.
13. Lunging is permitted only in the ring near the entrance to the farm.
14. Schooling will be allowed in the ring the morning of the show and at
designated times. Show management reserves the right to split or to
terminate schooling.
15. Food will be available on the grounds.
16. Limited day stalls are available for $30.00. Please call ahead to reserve.
Cancellations must be called in by 9:00 a.m. the Saturday prior to the
horse show; otherwise you will be charged in full.
17. Hazelwild Farm Educational Foundation, any officials, and employees
related to the foundation, and its board of directors, will not be held
responsible for any accident or loss which may occur to any exhibitor,
spectator, groom, property, or animal at the show.
18. Participants and spectators alike understand that horses are inherently
unpredictable and dangerous and that equipment and ground conditions
are equally unpredictable; and knowingly choose to participate and/or
spectate, taking full responsibility for this choice. Entry onto the grounds
constitutes knowledge and agreement with this policy.
Aunt Sis Memorial Classic Show Rules
*All are invited to show. However, riders must be a member of a
team listed on the entry form to be eligible for prize money.
*Teams must consist of no less than four and no more than six
riders. Only the top 4 rider’s points will count towards the team.
*Teams are required to pre-enter (individuals not on a team may
enter on show day). Payment is due on show day.
*No changes to teams accepted after 8:00am on show day.

*Riders can only be on one team. Horses/Ponies can be on multiple
teams.
*A team member may do a division on one horse and the second
division on a different horse. This must be designated on the entry.
*Team points will only be accepted from two divisions per team
member designated on the pre-entry form. Only the top 4 rider’s
points will count towards the team.
*On the pre-entry form, team members must write in the divisions
to count towards team points.
*Points are calculated at follows: 10,6,4,2,1,.5, Champion 10,
Reserve Champion 6.
*A high point award and a reserve high point award will be
presented to the team accumulating the most points for the day.
*In case of a tie, one rider from each team will compete in a jumpoff. Fences in the jump off will be no higher than 2’6”.
*This event is to promote sportsmanship and teamwork. Anyone not
exhibiting sportsmanlike behavior will be asked to leave and forfeit
all entries.
* Points from this show do not count towards Hazelwild Farm year
end awards. The Hazelwild Farm Show Series dates are 1/15/17,
2/11/17, 3/25/17, 4/2/17, 5/28/17, 6/25/17, 8/20/17, 9/17/17, 10/22/17. Year end
awards will be presented at the October 22nd show.
*Equitation on the flat, pony equitation, children/adult equitation do
not count as a division. The classic will earn extra points per team
member.
