JUMP ROPE AND HOOPS FOR HEART – CHALLENGE REWARDS FUN IDEAS to use as extra rewards for student participation. Set a challenge goal for the student to achieve and these can be their rewards. Watch your event total grow each year as the number of students participating at that level to join in the fun grows each year too!! Splatter Paint Your Teacher/Principal Use Use loadable pool toy water cannons and buckets of water colored with Tempera paint. Let students fill their cannon several times to color the teachers. Very useful if a high number of participants as several can go at once. Egg Roulette Have an equal number of boiled and raw eggs. Allow students to choose an egg to hand to a teacher who will crush it on their forehead as the students watch. You’re a winner either way. If it is raw and splatters, you got your teacher! If it is boiled, you can advance to the next round. Last participant who has a boiled egg, wins a prize. We’ll help calculate the total number of eggs you need based on number of students participating. Powder Paint Students are given containers with the powder paint and they get to toss it at teachers. Very colorful and this should always be done outdoors. Slime Use pancake mix, water, and food coloring of your choice in a large container. Fill solo cups about ¾ full for each participant. If indoors, sit in a plastic wading pool. Pie Toss Use spray topping or Cool Whip. You can also set two levels with students raising a higher amount to pie the principal. Use PAPER plates, not aluminum pie tins. Balloon Toss Fill buckets with water balloons Students get to toss the balloons at their teachers. Teachers do not have balloons, but CAN toss back if they catch one or it lands and doesn’t burst!! Assign the balloon tieing to Student Council and if you need a large quantity, get a multiple water balloon filler device available on Ebay too! Silly String Give each student one can to spray on teachers. Good sized cans available at Dollar Tree Store or use Ebay and search Blue Box party string if you need larger quantities. The more students spraying at once the better! Theme Your Challenge Have top participants compete in various activities in front of other students. Ideas include Sumo wrestling against the teacher, an obstacle course with a survivor theme, a water party with a slip and slide, big trike races, etc. Field Trips for Top Participants Set an amount to raise to attend. Arrange a trip to your local orchard or market and ask them to provide a nutrition lesson, or bring one of your own. Take a trip to a local attraction like an indoor park, rock climbing wall, skating rink, or mini golf. Include a stop for a sack lunch in a park or at the facility. Special Invitation Lunch for Top Participants Set an amount to achieve to attend the lunch. This should be a higher amount. Decorate a reserved table with a tablecloth, real plates, silverware, flowers, etc. Invite special guests like your local fire department, EMS, or sports team. The Principal can act as the waiter. Remember healthy item menu and ask for donations from a local shop. Other Ideas: Marshmallow Fight Every student who raises $50 gets to participate in the Mini-Marshmallow Fight. This can take place during an end of school year assembly. Get out of Class Coupon: Any student that raises at least $100 gets a “get out of class” coupon. The student must ask their classroom teacher if they can leave class and go to the gym and join another PE class that is already in session. The PE teacher has already approved the students can join any class at any time – it’s up to the student to decide when and the classroom teacher to decide if the kid can go. Older Children Lead: Have the older grades vote on a hair color (or shape) for the coordinator if they reach goal. Also, they can submit ideas of what you will do if you reach your goal, and your wow goal. Personally select the top five choices you would actually do and let the top fundraiser make the final decision. Extinct Duck: Provide an old duck, now extinct to all students, who return a donation when the school reaches their goal. Gym Jam: Invite students who achieve a certain level to come to the gym for a fun group of activities. Have a variety of game equipment laid out, music playing and let them just have fun! Be sure to utilize the school pool if you have one! V.I.P. Treatment: For the Top 10 Fundraisers at the Staff vs Student HFH Game have the top 10 students get stage seating with popcorn and make-your-own flavored water. District-Wide Reward: Secure a car from a salvage yard. Have the fluids and battery removed and haul the car to different schools in the district. Offer different levels of participation. Students help paint splat the car during the kick-off. As each student receives their first donation they sign the car. Each student gets to hit the car once and “knock out heart disease” for every $50 raised. On-Line Motivation: Every student who sends 10 emails gets a gift from a Teacher Mystery Box. An additional gift can be given when the student receives their first on-line donation. Class Rewards: They can be awarded various things like extra PE time, or the class gets to hang the banner on their door (they LOVE this). You can set class rewards by top amount per class, by number of participants or percentage of class that gets donations. You may also have a top dollar class reward but students must have collected donations to join in. Don’t forget the classroom teacher with a gift card to a local coffee shop. And keep safety in mind. Use goggles, ear plugs, and shower caps as needed. Have towels for participants and yourself if needed. Be silly and they will remember you and your celebration forever!!
