Rules and Regulations
Game: Badminton
The guidelines of the badminton tournament are as stated below:
1. Eligibility
a. MIA’s member firm in Johor Bahru is welcomed to complete in the tournament.
b. Here are no age restrictions.
2. Team Combination
a. A team will require a minimum of 6 players, and a maximum of 10 players
including reserves.
3. Dress Code
a. Badminton apparel and footwear
4. Equipment
a. Racquet will not be provided, however, shuttlecocks will be provided.
5. Format
a. The game format will be based on Sudirman Cup.

1 Men & Women Doubles

1 Mixed Doubles.
b. Players are allowed to enroll for maximum 2 games, however, the decision to
enroll must be made before the game commences.
6. Rankings
a. The team which won 3 games out of 5 games considered won. However, all the 5
games will be carried out in the group stage.
b. The top 2 teams among the group stage will advance to fight for champion, vice
versa for the 2nd runner-up.

7. Disqualification
a. A team consisting of non-registered player/s or player/s that is not a permanent
staff of the said firm will be disqualified from the tournament.
b. Players failing to report on court for their match within 10 minutes of the match
being announced will be defaulted.
c. Players are NOT ALLOWED to switch turns during the course of the tournament.
d. For firms that are sending two teams, kindly note that players are strictly confined
to the original teams and are not allowed to switch to different teams during the
game.
8. Interpretation Clause
a. Any matters arising and not covered in the above rules and regulations will be
dealt with by the Organizing Committee whose decision shall be final.
