2017-18 OCR EXTRAMURAL SCHEDULE

 Events do not HAVE to be held on a Thursday or Friday. Using other days for your events would help
create space on an increasingly crowded calendar – especially if you are hosting a NEW event.
 As a general rule, Ontario Collegiate Recreation (OCR) WILL NOT sanction two tournaments in same
sport on same day in the same geographic location (i.e will not sanction two men’s hockey
tournaments in West on same day). Also, for sports with a small number of events, the OCR looks to
avoid scheduling tourneys in the same sport on back-to-back days AND back to back weeks.
 Each campus is responsible for contacting tournaments directly to book a spot in a tournament. OCR
recommends to each tournament director that the defending champion of the tournament be
contacted directly and invited to return to defend their title. Other than that, tournaments are
generally open to all OCR member campuses on a first come, first serve basis, with non-members put
on a waiting list. However, each tournament may have individual criteria for how spots are allocated
in addition to these general guidelines and policies.
