Timbits Program
For children ages 3 & 4 (born 2013 & 2012) this program is designed to introduce children to the game of
hockey. This free program runs for 30 mins each Thursday at 4:30 pm starting in October.
Initiation Program
YMH IP program is open to children ages 5 & 6 (2011 & 2010) for $350 per player. The YMH program strives to
follow the Hockey Canada IP model - a structured, learn-to-play hockey program designed to introduce
beginners to the game's basic skills while keeping it fun and developing long term players.
New for 2016/2017 playing season, Cross Ice Hockey will now be the standard for IP including all games and
scrimmages.
Yorkton Novice Hockey League (YNHL)
This local novice league is open to players ages 7 & 8 (born 2009 & 2008) for $350 per player and focuses
on fundamental skill development and game understanding thru increased practice time at the beginning of
the season. After several weeks of practices, fewer practices are combined with a league game schedule
and league playoffs all played locally.
Female Bantam Hockey
Open to females ages 13 & 14 (born 2003 & 2002) for $350 per player, the Yorkton Gardon Crushers play
in the SSFHL (South Saskatchewan Female Hockey League).
Tier II Atom, Peewee, Bantam & Midget Teams
All YMH Tier II teams are members of the MHL (Major Hockey League) and team selection for each age
group commences at the end of September. Cost is $350 per player.

Peewee ages 11 &12 (2005 & 2004)
Bantam ages 13 & 14 (2003 & 2002)
Midget ages 15,16, & 17 (2001, 2000 & 1999)
Tier I (AA) Atom, Peewee, Bantam & Midget Teams
Tier I (AA) tryout cost is $60 per player and $350 per player for the season.
Atom Tier I (AA) is a member of SEMHL (SouthEast Minor Hockey League) and the 2016/2017 head coach
is Mike Cristo. Tryouts are Sept 16-18, 2016.
Peewee Tier I (AA) is a member of the SSMHL (South Saskatchewan Minor Hockey League) and the
2016/2017 head coach is Ryan Hoffman. Tryouts are Sept 16-18, 2016.
Bantam Tier I (AA) is a member of SBAAHL (Saskatchewan Bantam AA Hockey League) and the
2016/2017 head coach is Dan Cross. Tryouts are Sept 9-11, 2016.
Midget Tier I (AA) is a member of the SSMHL (South Saskatchewan Minor Hockey League) and the
2016/2017 head coach is Chris Newans. Tryouts are Sept 23-25, 2016.
YMH offers 3 on 3 hockey times in September and costs $100 per player. Recreational (no refs) 3 on 3
games are 45 mins in length with each team having 3 skaters and 1 goalie out on the ice. It is a fast paced
game allowing players lots of ice time and puck handling. Parents volunteer to run the clock.
Registration for 3 on 3 should be done prior to August 30th.
IP Power Skating (Intro to Hockey)
For interested IP players (born 2010 and 2011), four (4) one hour sessions on Sep 17, Sep 21, Sep 24 and Sep
28 focused on skating fundamentals and costs $60 per player.
Pre-Season Power Skating
Open to players registering for Novice, Atom or Peewee in the 2016/2017 season for $80 per player. YMH
offers a 4 session pre-season power skating session designed to get your player back on the ice practicing
fundamental skating techniques to improve their endurance, agility, balance and strength.
Sessions are run by Jason Gordon and will run on Monday Sep 19, Sep 26, Oct 3 and Oct 10.
In Season Power Skating
Open to players in Atom and Peewee, the In-Season sessions continue to work on further developing a skaters
fundamental skills. Run by Jason Gordon, a total of eight (8) sessions will run on Oct 17, Oct 24, Nov 7, Nov 14,
Nov 21, Nov 28, Dec 5 and Dec 12 and costs $150.
Conditioning Camp
Open to all Atom thru Midget YMH Players, the conditioning camp offers four (4) hours of pre-tryout ice
time for $80 per player.
These conditioning camps are run by the Tier I coaches.
Atom camp: Sep 10, 11, 14 and 15
Peewee camp: Sep 10, 11 and 14
Bantam camp: Sep 6, 7 and 8
Midget camp: Sep 20, 21, and 22
Goaltender Development Program
Mind The Net Goaltending will be returning to provide 15 hours of on-ice instruction. All goaltenders will
utilize 90 minutes per regular on-ice session. The goalie to instructor ratio will be no more than three
goalies per instructor.
Atom/PeeWee – 4:45pm – 6:15pm (9-12 goalies accepted)
Bantam/Midget – 6:30pm – 8:00pm (9-12 goalies accepted)
The program will tentatively have 5 sessions in September, to help the goaltender prepare for any
evaluations at the start of the hockey season.
The sessions will then continue monthly with sessions October 2016 thru to February 2017.
