After playing Radcliffe Borough B last Saturday , today we welcome the “A” Team, This team are currently
rooted at the bottom of the league but we know that means nothing as this league is packed with quality.
Park kicked off and created a shooting opportunity via Jimmy in the opening few seconds but his shot went
wide. Park applied good pressure but couldn’t find a way passed the Radcliffe keeper, his physical presence
and ability was to prove to be a key factor in the outcome of this game. Radcliffe broke on the odd counter
attack and a long throw-in routine was comfortable headed clear by Christian and Milo. The best chance of
the half fell to Adam who tried to round the keeper instead of shooting. Then a blow to the Eagles, A long
punt up field wasn’t cleared and Radcliffe took their chance well and blasted home giving Joe no chance.
Half Time 0 - 1
2nd half, and time to up the work rate, we found ourselves some how trailing 1 – 0 and we needed 2 second
half goals to turn it around, the Eagles again dominated the match and played some delightful passing
football, they created chance after chance after chance but yep that keeper was on fire, he saved everything,
some how he kept everything out. That was until from one of the best team passing moves of the game, I
think every Park player had a part to play in the build up and the slick passing eventually found Lucas 5 yards
out who slotted home, finally beating the Radcliffe keeper. 1 – 1.
Time to push for the winner, the lads gave everything, they ran their socks off, they tried so hard to get the 2nd
goal but it turned out to be a day that the Radcliffe keeper would remember for some time, he was awesome ,
I totally lost count of how many great saves he made and at the end he deserved to get his team their first
point of the season.
All the lads gave it their all, a fantastic game to watch, the passing and team play was excellent,Well Done.
