Rotary Honors Veterans 5K Walk/Run FAQ: When is the kids run and how far is the distance? The kids run will be at 10:10 am and the distance is estimated to be 100 yards. We may also have several mascots for the kids to get their pictures with. Is my participation fee considered a charitable contribution? Yes. The RHV5K event is sponsored by The Rotary Club of Westerville through our foundation, which is a 501C3. Checks should be made payable to the “Westerville Rotary Foundation.” Can I register the morning of the race? Yes. Same day registration will begin at 7:30 am to 8:30 am. The entry will be $37. Cash or Check payable to the “Westerville Rotary Foundation”. Goodie bags including race shirts and other items will be available while supplies last. Will there be packet pick up the morning of the race? Yes. Packet pick up will be available beginning at 7:45 am What is the raffle that’s included? Each runner will be automatically entered into a raffle to win one of 12- $30 gift cards for Fleet Feet store purchase. The winners will be chosen at random from all entries and notified via email. You need not be present to win!! The gift cards will be mailed following the event. What is the team competition about? Teams are competing for two categories, the largest team and the largest amount of pledges raised. The top 2teams will win complimentary $1000 level and $500 level sponsorships in next years’ event and additional recognition the morning of the race. When does the team competition conclude? All team competition will conclude at 7pm on Friday, November 4th, so we can tally the participation. The winning teams will be announced prior to the start of the race. How can I make an additional donation/pledge to show my support? Donations/pledges can be turned in at the registration table. Checks should be payable to the “Westerville Rotary Foundation”. An additional donation of $20 or more will include a 3' x 5' deluxe nylon, US Flag having embroidered stars, sewn stripes and metal grommets Can I walk with my stroller or pet? Yes. We prefer any strollers and pets (on a leash) to be at the back of the coral to ensure a safe start. How much money raised goes to the Veteran’s organization? This can vary year to year based on support from participants and sponsors. Over our first five years, the donation to the Veteran’s organization has averaged approximately $10 per participant. Proudly, we have donated nearly $20,000 to the various Veterans’ organizations since our first year in 2011. On Behalf of The Rotary Club of Westerville, we thank you for your support.
