Video Game Policy
Anyone who is at least 18 years old, has a valid library card from a Bridges member
library, and is in good standing with that card, may check out Video Games. Persons
younger than 18 require permission by a parent or legal guardian in order to check out
Video Games. A signature by a parent or legal guardian is required on the minor’s
library card application. Signing the library card application indicates that the applicant
agrees to abide by this policy It is the responsibility of the parent or legal guardian to
monitor Video Game materials checked out to a minor.
Please be advised: The Library is not responsible for damages that may occur to
equipment owned by the borrower in the playing of Video Game materials. Video
Games owned and loaned by the Library are for private, in-home use only and are
protected by copyright law.
Video Games are checked out for seven (7) days. There is no limit on the
number that can be checked out. Three renewals are allowed provided there are no
current holds on the item (s). Overdue charges are 50 cents per day. There is NO
GRACE PERIOD for Video Games.
Video Games must be returned inside or in the 24/7 media return at the Jefferson
Public Library: do not return them in outside materials receptacles. While the item(s)
are in your possession, they are your responsibility. Video Game materials will not be
considered “returned in full” unless all accompanying materials are present. You may
be liable for damages to Video Games up to full replacement value. Please report any
problems with Video Games to staff.
