Annex 1: TRANSFER OF USER RIGHTS TO THE UNIVERSITY OF EASTERN FINLAND
The applicants assure with their signatures that the provided information is correct, and that they to the best of their
knowledge own the rights to the presented result/invention.
The applicants grant fixed-term parallel user rights to the University of Eastern Finland in order for the University of Eastern
Finland to perform the TULI-actions jointly agreed on, as provided by the cover letter of the Tekes TULI-funding decision. A
quote from the Tekes TULI-funding decision cover letter:
“Using TULI-funding to evaluate and develop innovations owned by private persons (researcher/s) is possible only with
contractual proceedings. In such cases, the private person (researcher) must make a written agreement with the funding
recipient (university/research organisation) which gives the funding recipient fixed-term parallel user rights to the invention
rights. User rights are given without compensation and they cannot be transferred forward without the consent of the
original owner. In addition to the content of user rights, confidentiality issues must also be included in the agreement
between the researcher and the university/research organisation. The time limit of the fixed term user rights must be valid
for at least as long as TULI evaluation and development are actions are taking place.”
Parallel user rights are granted for the period of TULI-actions or the maximum of six (6) months. Compensation will not be paid
for the granted user rights and they cannot be transferred forward. Applicants agree that they will not start up a business
during TULI-actions. Tekes instructions state the following:
The signatories agree that the project and management group of the TULI project are entitled to the information on this
form, and that the university may, if needed, request information from and assign information to authorities and public
funding bodies. Assigned information is handled as confidential and non-disclosure agreements are signed with the parties
if needed.
