Contest — Win a $1,000 Account Credit with Monetico Mobile
CONTEST PERIOD
1. The Win a $1,000 Account Credit with Monetico Mobile contest is organized by the Fédération
des caisses Desjardins du Québec (the "Contest Organizers"). It will begin on June 1, 2017 at 7:00
a.m. and end on August 31, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. (the “Contest Period”).
ELIGIBILITY
2. The contest is open to businesses with a place of business in Canada that do not have a Monetico
payment solution as of May 31, 2017 (the “Eligible Business”).
The following individuals are not eligible to enter the contest:
- Employees, officers, administrators, agents and representatives of the Fédération des
caisses Desjardins du Québec, the Fédération des caisses populaires de l'Ontario Inc., their
member caisses and any other Desjardins Group entity, their advertising and promotional
agencies, suppliers of prizes, materials and any other services related to this contest, and
any other agent directly associated with this contest, and anyone with whom they reside
HOW TO ENTER
3. From June 1, 2017 to June 30, 2017
To enter, Eligible Businesses must, during the Contest Period, sign up for Monetico Mobile or
Monetico Mobile + in one of the following ways:
- By calling the Desjardins Card Services Business Customer Service line at 1-855-751-0015
- By directly contacting their caisse or Desjardins Business centre
- Through the “Sign up for Monetico Mobile” campaign microsites
To enter online, Eligible Businesses must:

Go to monetico.ca/promo/moneticomobile.
(2)
Select either the Monetico Mobile or Monetico Mobile + solution by clicking the
“Get Monetico” button.
(3)
Complete the online enrolment form and submit it by clicking “Confirm.”
Enrolment forms must be submitted and approved to be eligible for the draw and a prize.
Acceptance is retroactive to the date the form is submitted for the purposes of determining the
contest entry date.
3.1 From July 1, 2017 to August 31, 2017
To be eligible, businesses must have a minimum volume of $2,000 in transactions in the two (2)
months following the end of the registration period to be eligible.
3.2 Businesses must still have the Monetico Mobile or Monetico Mobile + solution and their account
must still be open when the prize is awarded and the deposit is made into their account.
No purchase or consideration required. To enter the contest without signing up for Monetico Mobile
or Monetico Mobile +, Eligible Businesses must legibly handwrite the name of their business, address
with city and postal code, phone number and the date, along with an original text of approximately
50 words on the “Advantages of Monetico Mobile or Monetico Mobile +,” and mail it in an envelope
with sufficient postage addressed to: Win a $1,000 Account Credit with Monetico Mobile contest,
8th floor, 450 boulevard de Maisonneuve Ouest, Montreal Quebec H3A 0H2. To be valid, nopurchase/no-consideration entries must be postmarked no later than June 30, 2017, the last day of
the contest. Upon receipt of the letter, the contest entry will automatically be registered and provide
one (1) chance to win. Limit of one (1) entry per stamped envelope. Entries by mail will be subject to
the same conditions as all other entries. Mechanical reproductions will not be accepted. Entries
become the property of the contest organizer and will not be returned.
4. Limit one (1) entry per Eligible Business during the Contest Period, regardless of entry method.
PRIZES
5. In total, one (1) prize of $1,000 will be won. The prize will be awarded as a credit to the winning
business’s Monetico account in the 30 days following the draw.
The winner is responsible for paying any taxes that may arise from the awarding of the prize, fully
absolving the contest organizer and the persons on whose behalf the contest is held.
CONTEST DRAW
6. The winner will be selected by a random draw from among all eligible entries received during the
Contest Period. The drawing will be held at the Contest Organizer’s office in Montreal.
The draw will be held on September 25, 2017, at 11:00 a.m.
7. The odds of an Eligible Business being randomly selected depend on the number of eligible entries
received during the Contest Period.
GENERAL CONDITIONS
8. To be declared a winner, a representative of the business selected at random must meet the
following conditions:
8.1. Be reached by telephone by the Contest Organizer within fifteen (15) days of the draw. The
representative of the selected participant must be reached within no more than two (2) attempts
and will have forty-eight (48) hours maximum to return a call following a voicemail left by the
Contest Organizer, if applicable; otherwise the right to the prize will be forfeited.
8.2. Confirm that the business meets the eligibility conditions and other requirements set forth in
these contest rules.
8.3. Correctly answer the mathematical skill-testing question asked over the telephone.
8.4. Sign the liability waiver and declaration form (the “Declaration Form”) that will be sent by the
Contest Organizer by fax or email (at the discretion of the Contest Organizer), and return it to
them within forty-eight (48) hours of receipt.
Failure to comply with any of the above conditions or any other condition in the contest rules will
result in disqualification of the selected business. In such a case, the Contest Organizer may, at its
discretion, cancel the prize or hold another draw in accordance with the contest rules until another
business is selected and declared the winner. The same conditions will apply, subject to any
necessary modifications, if required.
9. Awarding of prizes. Within twenty-four (24) hours of receipt of the Declaration Form, the
Contest Organizer will send an email to the representatives of the winning business to inform them
of the delivery terms of their prize. If a selected business declines their prize, the Contest Organizer
will be released from all obligations related to the awarding of said prize and may, at its discretion,
cancel the prize or hold a new draw in accordance with the procedure described in the previous
section.
10. Verification. Entries and Declaration Forms are subject to verification by the Contest Organizer.
Any entry or Declaration Entries that are incomplete, inaccurate, illegible, reproduced mechanically
or by hand, mutilated, fraudulent, obtained from an unauthorized source, submitted or sent after
the deadline, or that contain telephone numbers that are invalid or otherwise non-compliant, may
be rejected and shall not be eligible for the draw or a prize, as the case may be.
11. Disqualification. Any individual who participates or attempts to participate in this contest by
using a means that violates these contest rules or in a way that is unfair to other participants (e.g.,
use of fraudulently obtained entry forms, entries submitted after the permitted time limit, computer
hacking, use of a “voting group”, use of a false name) will be automatically disqualified and may be
reported to legal authorities.
12. Contest operation. Any attempt to sabotage the legitimate conduct of this contest constitutes
a violation of civil and criminal laws. In the event of such attempts, the Contest Organizer reserves
the right to reject the participant’s entries and seek redress under the law.
13. Acceptance of prize. The prize must be accepted as described in the contest rules and shall in
no case be wholly or partially transferred to another person, substituted for another prize or
exchanged for money, other than in accordance with these rules.
14. Limitation of liability. Should the Contest Organizer be unable to award the prize as described
in these rules, it reserves the right to award a prize of the same type and equivalent value or, at its
entire discretion, the cash value of the prize indicated in these rules.
15. Limitation of liability: use of prize. The winner releases the Contest Organizer and the
persons on whose behalf the contest is held from any damages, suffering or loss that may result
from their entering the contest, accepting or using the prize. The winner acknowledges that as soon
as they receive the email confirming the prize, fulfillment of the obligations related to the prize
becomes the full and exclusive responsibility of the various goods and services suppliers. The winner
agrees to sign a declaration and release form to that effect. The Winner acknowledges that the only
applicable warranty is the usual manufacturer's warranty.
16. Limitation of liability: contest operation. The Contest Organizer and the persons on whose
behalf the contest is held will not be held liable for the malfunction of any computer component,
software or line of communication, the loss or absence of network communication or any
communication that is defective, incomplete, incomprehensible or deleted by any computer or
network, and which may limit or prevent anyone from reading the contest rules. They also waive all
liability with respect to any damage or loss that may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in
part, by any website or software or other download, and the transmission of any information
concerning contest participation. More specifically, if the administration, security, impartiality,
integrity or conduct of the contest is corrupted or seriously affected, namely because of a virus, bug,
alteration, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical computer failure or any other cause, the
Contest Organizer reserves the right, subject to approval by the Régie des alcools, des courses et des
jeux du Québec, to cancel, modify, extend or suspend the contest without prior notice.
17. Limitation of liability: entries. The Contest Organizer and persons on whose behalf the
contest is held are not responsible for lost, misdirected, or late entries, including for reasons
involving postal service problems or any breakdown for any reason whatsoever of the website during
the Contest Period, including any damage to the merchant’s computer or mobile device.
18. Limitation of liability: Inability to act. The Contest Organizer and persons on whose behalf
the contest is held will not be held liable in any way in the event their inability to act results from a
fact or a situation beyond their control, or from a strike, lockout or any other labour conflict in the
organizations or companies whose services are used to hold the contest.
19. Contest changes. The Contest Organizer reserves the right, at its entire discretion, to cancel,
terminate, modify or suspend this contest, in whole or in part, should human intervention or an
event occur that could alter or affect the administration, security, impartiality or normal running of
the contest as stipulated in these rules, subject to the approval of the Régie des alcools, des courses
et des jeux du Québec. The Contest Organizer cannot be held liable in any way.
20. Termination of the contest. In the event that the contest must be terminated, in whole or in
part, for any reason, before the closing date stipulated in these rules, the Contest Organizer may
proceed, at its discretion, with a draw from among the entries duly received and registered up to the
date of the event ending the contest.
21. Prize limit. Under no circumstances will the Contest Organizer be required to award more
prizes than indicated herein or award a prize other than in compliance with these rules.
22. Limitation of liability: contest entry. Individuals entering or attempting to enter this contest
release the Contest Organizer and persons on whose behalf the contest is held from all liability for
any damages that they may suffer as a result.
23. Authorization. By accepting a prize, the winner authorizes the Contest Organizer and its
representatives to use, if required, their name, photograph, image, voice, place of residence and/or
declaration relating to the prize for advertising purposes, without any compensation.
24. Communication with Participants. There will be no communication or correspondence with
participants in relation to this contest, except as described in these contest rules or at the Contest
Organizers’ initiative or to obtain consent to use entries from participants who entered the contest
without purchase or consideration.
25. Personal information. Participants’ personal information collected for this contest will be
used only for the administration of the contest. No communications, commercial or otherwise,
unrelated to this contest will be sent to participants, unless they have otherwise agreed.
26. Ownership. The contest entries and Declaration Forms are the property of the Contest
Organizer and will not in any case be returned to participants.
27. Decision. Any decision by the Contest Organizer or its representatives regarding the contest is
final and without appeal, subject to a ruling by the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du
Québec on any issue under its jurisdiction.
28. Quebec participants. Disputes about the organization or conduct of a promotional contest
may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec for a ruling. Any
dispute regarding the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of
helping the parties reach a settlement.
29. Severability. If a section of these rules is declared or deemed illegal, unenforceable or invalid
by a court of competent jurisdiction, that section will be considered null and void, but all other
sections that are not affected will be enforced to the extent permitted by law.
