We had the pleasure this year of having Bobby Bowden, the Living Legend, as our featured speaker. As always, he was very entertaining, and he shared about the FCA ministry in his life and career. He was very gracious and spent time and energy signing footballs and helmets for our table sponsors, who make the event possible. As always, spouses are invited, and this year we had over 80 people in attendance. It is our chance to speak words of encouragement to our coaches and tell them how much we appreciate the Godly influence they have on our young people. We had a number of volunteers come and help with the event, and we want to say thank you to them. This year, we invited Coach Ray Goff to come and speak to our coaches. He spoke on some very personal matters and challenged each coach to guard themselves at all times from temptations that are common to all of us. He spoke of his own failures and his road to forgiveness and cautioned each coach to be watchful and mindful of what is around them. The message was well-received, and we want to thank Coach Goff for his openness and honesty in taking on such a sensitive subject. The event was held again this year at the Griffin’s Barn, and we want to thank them for their hospitality. Coach Goff spent time ministering to coaches. The coaches and their spouses enjoyed a buffet style steak dinner. Nationwide Golf Tournament Jose and his wife do a great job every year. Golfers enjoyed a delicious steak dinner. We had the opportunity again this year to provide a supper for about 40 or more golfers from the Nationwide Golf Tournament. Jose Alvarez is the FCA chaplain for the tour and follows them each week. He ministers to the golfers, which includes a weekly Bible study on Tuesday nights. Each year when they are at Kinderlou, we provide a supper for them prior to the study. This year was a great success, and the young golfers are especially grateful for the meal we provide. The supper was held at the home of Chris Manwell who has been extremely generous to us in opening up his home. Thank you, Chris, and thank you, Jose, for holding forth the Gospel of our Lord before these young athletes. SEGA FCA SEGA FCA 1709-A Gornto Rd.
