The Longest Soccer Game at Living Waters

The Longest Soccer Game at Living Waters
on April 4th was an incredible success! The event raised
$13,500 for the new playground. Great evidence of what kids
can do when they take hold of a project and make it their own!
The energy was flying high in
the gym all day as the soccer
game ran continuously from
8:45am to 2:45pm. Over
lunch hour, the RCMP came
and played soccer with our
students!
The day ended with a pep rally in the gym where many prizes
were awarded to the students.
The school presented two Nintendo Wiis to the top fundraisers:
siblings Carly, Max and Mia who raised $1,442 each (a total of
$4,326!) and Ryan who raised $1465. Prizes were also awarded to
the following students for their significant fundraising efforts:
Derek ($1,100), Andrew ($830), and Dylan ($400). Many
students went above and beyond raising the needed $50 to play.
Mayor Stuart Houston wrote a letter to the students congratulating
them on their “remarkable achievement”. He said “your efforts
demonstrate solid community spirit and the willingness to do
something good for others and your entire community”.
Special Thanks to our sponsors: Spruce Grove Garden Market

Special Thanks to our school moms for the tasty hot lunch they
made and all the help during the day. Also to students Ryan, Joel,
Luke, Krysta, Sam, and Greg for their leadership in running the
soccer game, refereeing, and score keeping.
