TOURNAMENT RULES
1. The Conference of the East Zone Bowling Association Tournament will be conducted under the
authority of and be certified by the United States Bowling Congress (USBC). All applicable
USBC Rules will govern this tournament. All entrants must be members of active CEZBA
Association and USBC. Captains may be required to show USBC Cards for all team members.
2. Prizes will be awarded on a handicap basis. Individual handicap is to be based on 90% of an
entrant’s highest 2016 - 2017 USBC yearbook average and 230 scratch. If no yearbook average
is available, verified summer averages will be allowed (21 games or more as of July 31, 2017).
All other bowlers will bowl scratch.
3. It is the responsibility of each bowler to verify the accuracy of his/her average, weather submitted
by bowler, team captain or others. Failure to use the correct average or to make correction prior
to the start of the second game of the tournament shall disqualify scores, if submitted average is
lower than actual average. If submitted average is higher than actual average, prize winning will
be based on the higher submitted average.
4. The average of any entrant in this tournament is subject to rerating if either of the following has
happened during the past twelve (12) months preceding this tournament.
a. USBC Rule 319A will apply (10 pine rule).
b. If he/she has qualified for a prize of $600.00 or more in any event or tournament, he/she
must report all such prizes plus actual scores and position standings in accordance with
USBC Rule 319D (Reporting Prior Prize Winnings). See USBC Rule Book for details.
c. USBC Rule 319E (Average Adjustment for Entry) will apply.
5. Tournament manager reserves the right to rerate any entrant prior to bowling.
6. Only one professional (PBA) bowler active or otherwise, on a team.
7. No practice bowling on assigned lanes.
8. Substitutes must be present at tournament desk 45 minutes prior to squad time. Substitutes must
have a verifiable average or they must bowl scratch.
9. Team captain will notify all team members of schedule.
10. Prize money will be sent to captain.
11. Entries from participants who live 50 or more miles from the tournament site will get scheduling
preferences: PROVIDING THE ENTRY IS RECEIVED BY THE DEADLINE DATE.
12. Onsite entries will be accepted at the discretion of the tournament manager providing there are
lanes available. These will be considered late entries and may be charged a late entry fee.
13. Prize ratio shall be 1 in 6 entries.
14. Entrants may enter Team Event twice but Doubles and Singles only once. Only two (2) players
from the first team may bowl on the second team. First Team Event counts towards All Events.
15. Entries postmarked by midnight August 1, 2017 will be accepted.
16. All Events is an optional fee (Rule 307).
17. Special All Events is scratch.
