Mudmoiselle London - Canadian Cancer Society

Mudmoiselle London – Frequently Asked Questions
FUNDRAISING
Is there a minimum fundraising goal for your event?
All participants commit to raising a minimum of $150. The money raised
funds research, support services and other important work so that fewer
Canadians are touched by cancer.
Why is there a minimum fundraising goal?
We’re in the business of creating more survivors. There is a correlation
between improved survival rates and research funded by events like
Mudmoiselle. Cancer survival rates have more than doubled since the 1940s.
This progress is only possible because people support our fundraising
programs. The money raised funds research, support services and other
important work so that fewer Canadians are touched by cancer.
Is the fundraising goal of $150 for each participant or each team?
The $150 goal is for each participant after the registration fee of $50.
However, teams can work together to fundraise to reach the combined total!
For example: if you have 10 people on your team you need to raise a total of
$1500 which can be done through team fundraising, general team donations
or a tally of all the team members’ fundraising efforts. You can also host
fundraisers such as bake sales, dress down days or yard sales and divide up
the funds raised as a team.
What if I don’t reach my goal of $150?
We encourage you to reach this goal as the money raised goes to support
life saving cancer research as well as programs and services that support
people in our community living with cancer. Ask 10 friends for $15 each or
put a collection box on your desk at work. We invite you to contact one of
our coaches, Krista or Nancy at 519-432-1137 for additional fundraising tips.
How do I get a pledge form for donations that are not online?
Pledge forms can be found online by logging into your participant centre.
Need help getting on your participant centre. We also have pleged envelopes
at our office on 123 St. George Street that can be picked up. Contact Krista
at [email protected] or Nancy at [email protected].
REGISTRATION
How much does it cost to register?
From now until September 17 you can register at our early bird rate of $50.
From September 18-24 the registration fee will be $75.

The opportunity to participate in the Mudmoiselle course, post course snacks
and refreshments, a Mudmoiselle participant shirt, finisher medal and swag

your coworkers and be prepared to be challenged and VERY muddy!

spectator to cheer the racers.

The time will vary. Participants of our other Mudmoiselle courses took
between 40 minute and 3 hours to complete the course, but the average
finish time is between 1-1/2 hours.
Will there be hills to climb?
Yes! Boler mountain operates as a ski hill in the winter time, so the hills will
be part of the fun!
How many obstacles will there be?
There will be approximately 15 obstacles, plus a few hills to climb! (And yes
you can count on being muddy when you are done!)
Do I have to run the whole course?
No. In fact you can walk, run, skip or a combination of all three. This
women’s only event is open to all fitness levels. Whether you’re used to
running 10k or just running after your toddler, you can take on this
challenge.
What happens if I cannot complete an obstacle or do not feel
comfortable completing an obstacle?
Mudmoiselle is open to all fitness levels. If you are not comfortable
completing an obstacle or cannot complete one you are welcome to skip the
obstacle and keep moving through the course. There are not penalties or
burpees resulting from incomplete obstacles. And don’t forget if you are
participating as a team you have your teammates to support you. We will
have volunteers at every obstacle cheering you on and offering support too.
Is the event timed?
We will not be providing chip timing for the event. Mudmoiselle is a 5 km
stretch of London’s muckiest, filthiest, slimiest mud. It’s where your inner
child runs free while testing your endurance, strength and ability to keep a
straight face.
Is there parking onsite?
Yes there is free parking onsite. We do encourage you to carpool where
possible to save space and for planet earth .
