Collaborative Review – Programme Critical Appraisal Report (P-CAR) template
To be completed by the collaborative partner’s programme leader or co-ordinator in consultation with
the author of the Generic Critical Appraisal (G-CAR) report. A separate report should be completed for
each programme/cluster of programmes (i.e. HNC/HND may be treated as same programme). This
report must be submitted together with the Generic CAR (G-CAR).

Describe how effective liaison has been with the Faculty, including areas for improvement, and examples of
good practice. State how liaison is undertaken, frequency etc. For this programme, provide a summary of
meetings and visits since the last Collaborative (Institutional) Review and key issues addressed. Highlight any
areas of good practice in relation to this.
QA mechanisms
Comment on opportunities to participate in faculty programme management boards, periodic reviews or
assessment boards (n/a for partners/ programmes that operate under the Validation Service model).
Marketing
Provide details and comment on the effectiveness of marketing activities related to this programme.
Student recruitment, retention and progression (the APU Account Manager can provide SPS figures
for comparison). Provide figures for the last three or five years with a commentary and analysis.

Provide historical details about staff development activities undertaken or courses attended by teaching staff
