Chopsticks in China
“Do you want cherry cake?” asked the
waiter in China. “No, I don’t like cherry
cake,” said the customer. “Do you want
chips?” asked the waiter. “No, I don’t
like chips,” said the customer.
The people chatted. The clock chimed.
“What do you want to eat?” asked the
waiter in China.
“Fried rice with chopsticks is very nice.”
The waiter smiled. His frown changed
to a smile. The clock stopped.
“Do you like cheese?” asked the waiter.
“No, I don’t like cheese,” said the
customer. “Do you want me to chop up
some salad?” said the waiter. “I don’t
like chopped salad,” said the customer.
“It’s 10.30 now,” said the waiter.
The man lifted his chin, checked the
time and his frown changed to a smile.
“What do you want to eat”? asked the
waiter in China.
“Rice!!” said the man. “Fried rice”!!
“I choose chopsticks and rice. No
chips, no cheese, no cherry cake, no
chopped salad. Just rice!!!”
