Job Description:
Agile Business Analysis involves understanding user and business needs, breaking those needs out into
constituent parts, analysing multiple solutions and supporting the communication and delivery of a solution to
meet the user needs. Analytical thinking, problem-solving and communication skills are core to effective
business analysis.
Agile Business Analysts carry out a wide range of activities. These responsibilities include:













Lead and manage investigations into business processes, functions, information flows, data structures
and software development processes, using various methodical and consistent techniques.
Define improvements to business processes, while evaluating potential solutions based on the impacts
across the organisation.
Lead, understand and communicate the big picture while working to assure the overall goal is
maintained in creation of the product backlog, in addition to working at a detailed level during sprints
and iterations.
Leader in providing solutions to real business problems through influence, facilitation and
communication.
Define scope whilst shaping and challenging business priorities and value through collaboration.
Elicit requirements using appropriate techniques taking into account the nature of change and
established practices.
Deliver at pace using agile methodologies and principles.
Responsible for the creation of requirements documentation to required standards. Using appropriate
modelling techniques, considering requirement management and traceability ensuring traceability
back to source, adherence to business objectives and their fitness for purpose.
Assist decision makers in gathering information to make informed decisions.
Promote a culture of assurance and security.
Help to quality assure test solutions and products.
Actively participate in the Business Analysis community and boarder communities to refine and
develop standards, working practices and sharing of knowledge and understanding.
Line management of Business Analysts within the DTM community.
